Story
Good day everyone! My name is Archie, and I sure do have a lot to say. While I can be quite fearful at times, I`m sure with some proper training, consistency, and an established home life, I could slowly start breaking out of my shell. I will say I definitely have a difficult time getting along with other dogs, and I can be quite fearful of little kids, so I would prefer a home life with only adults where I can be the center of attention. While this may seem like a lot for me on paper, I just need help learning that the world is not a scary place and I don`t need to be on my guard the whole time. I may take a bit of time to get to know you and I can be startled easily, but once I feel safe and secure in your presence, I definitely would love to receive some pets and love! Medical History: Archie appears to be an overall healthy dog but is on some fear and stress medication to help him to settle down and not be as fearful! However, it is always recommended adopters have their new friend examined by a vet shortly after adoption to establish care, and to talk about those stress meds.Restrictions: No small kids. No dogs. No apartments.Adoption Fee: $200 + tax.

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Jeb is being fostered in PA. Meet Jeb! He would love to be your little velcro buddy! Jeb is 6-8 years young and is doing great on his houstraining. He has very few accidents! Jeb loves to be outside, but most of all, he loves toys! He will empty the toy box and have his toys everywhere around him playing with them. He also loves to be right beside his person or persons. He is a charming little guy who is looking for his loving forever home. Is that you? BDRA has voted not to use electrical fencing effective immediately.

My name is Sadie. I'm a 6 year old Shih Tzu mix that is currently in foster care. I was diagnosed with diabetes so will be on insulin for the remainder of my life. My other person did not feel they could care for me. I'm a sweet gal overall! My sugars are doing well and I enjoy the company of the other dogs in my foster home!

Story
We are Max and Milo. We are two young brothers currently in foster care. We love the companionship of the other dogs, but may do better if we did not get adopted together to avoid the 'littermate syndrome'. We have not quite perfected our potty training, but are getting better. We are quite the joyful fellas!
