Story
Meet Paxton! Paxton is a playful, easygoing guy who loves hanging out with people and other dogs. He might act a little shy when someone new walks through the door, but give him a minute and he’s all love. Pax is working on his potty training and doing well. He doesn’t chew things he shouldn’t and just has this chill, happy vibe. He’d be thrilled to have a doggy playmate, but he’ll fit in with pretty much any home that wants a sweet, fun companion. Story
Meet Sasha! Sasha is the definition of an easygoing queen. She slides into a new home like she’s lived there forever. She’s crate trained, house trained, and plays nice with cats, dogs, and kids. She’s all about outdoor time, casual walks, getting loved on, and absolutely anything that involves snacks. Toys aren’t really her hobby, but she’s a solid, well-rounded girl who just wants to be part of someone’s everyday life. To apply to adopt, visit tailsofhopewi.org. Story
History: Ashley is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: ✨ Meet Ashley ✨ This sweet girl is equal parts playful and gentle, with the happiest tail that never seems to stop wagging. She likes exploring the toy bin and has even joined her foster sibling in a bark or two when she’s feeling extra spirited. She’s been such a good girl in her crate, sleeping through the night with only a few minutes of whimpers at the start. Every night she’s kept her crate clean and dry, which makes her foster mom very proud! Potty training is off to a great start, she goes outside regularly and should catch on quickly with a little patience. She’s still learning that pets and cuddles are safe and wonderful, but she already likes to follow her foster mom around, walk in happy little circles when spoken to, and will even sneak in gentle hand kisses. She wants to be close without being too clingy, which makes her the perfect balance of independent and affectionate. Outside, she’s catching on to leash walking (though she likes to trail behind for now). She has an energetic side when she’s playing but also knows how to relax and curl up, she even snoozed for hours wrapped in a cozy blanket, finally letting herself feel comfortable and safe. She gets along great with the resident small dog, coexisting peacefully without any issues. This sweetheart is still coming out of her shell and will continue to grow into her personality with time. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful companion who’s ready to blossom into her best self, she just might be the perfect match for you!

Story
History: Zoey FKA Starr was recently returned to rescue when she was not bonding well with her adopter :( She thrives with another dog around and will need that in a future home. She is overall not the most cuddly dog BUT if you are okay with her in your presence, enjoying a good nap, and appreciating you in that way, she would LOVE to join your home!

Story
History: Emmitt is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Meet Emmitt! Emmitt is a fun-loving little guy with a heart full of love to give. He’s happiest playing with any kind of ball and romping around with his two larger foster siblings. Emmitt gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs and would truly thrive in a home with another canine companion. He’s also a total people pup — you’ll often find him right at your heels, eager to snuggle and shower you with kisses. Emmitt is working hard on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has very few accidents. Because he’s still young, he’ll also benefit from a basic obedience class (which is required for all dogs under two years old). As a Shih Tzu, Emmitt will need regular grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep his coat fluffy, clean, and soft. Like many young dogs, Emmitt is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners — and to keep an eye on their belongings! He has been known to proudly parade off with a bathroom rug or two. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick and a sweet, snuggly companion to come home to, Emmitt is your guy!

Story
History: Hilda is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: Hi everyone, my name is Hilda and my foster mom says that makes sense because she says I am a little warrior due to all I have endured the first five years of my life. You see I am a commercial breeder survivor that entered rescue about a month ago and I have been trying so hard to be brave. New sounds scare me and I do not like meeting new people; however, I have started taking a few medications to make me more confident as well as gotten my ear infections treated and an extensive dental and I am starting to feel so much better. I recently discovered the fun toys in my foster mom's house and my favorites include a squeaky dinosaur and a large bone (it's my foster brothers and it's waaaay better than my small one even if it's the same size as me). I am getting better at walking on a leash as long as I can walk behind my foster mom. In fact, I usually follow her around the house all the time, always behind her so its easier to keep an eye on everything. I sleep in my kennel but sometimes I don't like not being around everyone else so I will let out a few barks to let them know. My favorite thing is being near my people but with just enough distance to do my own thing because I do still do not appreciate all their attention. I also enjoy following the other dogs around in the yard, I am starting to figure out how to play with them as well and they make it easier for me to be confident. My foster mom says that as I get more and more comfortable, I may enjoy touch more but I also may never be a "cuddly lap dog." She says I show my affection in my own ways but it will be important that my new family is patient with me and allows me to love them in my own way. If you are able to continue allowing Hilda to learn and grow her confidence on her own timeline, we look forward to hearing from you and meeting you. This warrior girl deserves her happily ever after.
