Wolfie is a 7 year old Shih Tzu with a gentle heart and a loyal spirit. This sensitive boy came into rescue after his previous home was not the right fit. He takes his “lap protector” duties very seriously and would thrive in a calm, adult only home with one special person to call his own who is home often to keep him company. Wolfie did not do well with other male in your face dogs but does well with calm small dogs his size who are not reactive. He is high energy, and another dog will help him burn some energy. He relies on the companionship, confidence, and comfort that come from having a friendly resident dog. We are requiring that his adopter already have a small, easygoing dog who enjoys canine company. Wolfie also absolutely requires a securely fenced yard. He loves to run and burn off energy outdoors and having a safe and enclosed space to do that is very important for his wellbeing. He is more active than many people expect from a Shih Tzu and regular outdoor play helps keep him happy and confident. He will run away if off leash and is hard to catch. He has made great progress with leash training and enjoys walks and little adventures. Wolfie can be a bit anxious at first but once he feels safe his affectionate and devoted nature shines. His favorite place is curled up on your lap soaking up love and attention. If you have a friendly small dog at home, a fully fenced yard, and the desire for a loyal companion who wants to stay by your side, Wolfie could be your perfect match. Meet Fabio! Fabio is a sweet 7-year-old male Shih Tzu with a gentle cautious soul. He is a retired breeding dog so the world is new for him. This little guy loves nothing more than snuggling on your lap and soaking up all the affection he can get. Once he warms up, he’ll happily rest his head on your shoulder for hugs—one of his favorite ways to show love. Fabio gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys playing with them, so he requires a home with another friendly pup. He’s a bit shy at first and likes to sit back and watch the world, but with patience and kindness he quickly becomes a loyal, cuddly companion. He isn’t a fan of cold weather or snow and prefers to spend most of his time indoors. Fabio uses a potty pad reliably in the house, and although he goes outside when encouraged, he likes to come right back in. He hasn’t mastered steps yet, but we are working on it. He would need a securely fenced-in yard or secure outdoor area to help keep him safe. He is not leash trained yet but working on it. Fabio is looking for a calm, loving home where he can feel secure, snuggle up with his people, and enjoy the company of another dog. He could do well with calm older children. If you’re hoping for a gentle, affectionate little buddy Fabio might be the perfect match. I am getting neutered and a dental cleaning 12/5 Friday. I can be adopted once I have healed from surgery. History: Ashley is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance at a good life. She quickly wriggled her way into our hearts with how sweet and loving she is and she would make a great addition to a lucky home of her own soon! A Note from the Foster: ✨ Meet Ashley ✨ This sweet girl is equal parts playful and gentle, with the happiest tail that never seems to stop wagging. She likes exploring the toy bin and has even joined her foster sibling in a bark or two when she’s feeling extra spirited. She’s been such a good girl in her crate, sleeping through the night with only a few minutes of whimpers at the start. Every night she’s kept her crate clean and dry, which makes her foster mom very proud! Potty training is off to a great start, she goes outside regularly and should catch on quickly with a little patience. She’s still learning that pets and cuddles are safe and wonderful, but she already likes to follow her foster mom around, walk in happy little circles when spoken to, and will even sneak in gentle hand kisses. She wants to be close without being too clingy, which makes her the perfect balance of independent and affectionate. Outside, she’s catching on to leash walking (though she likes to trail behind for now). She has an energetic side when she’s playing but also knows how to relax and curl up, she even snoozed for hours wrapped in a cozy blanket, finally letting herself feel comfortable and safe. She gets along great with the resident small dog, coexisting peacefully without any issues. This sweetheart is still coming out of her shell and will continue to grow into her personality with time. If you’re looking for a gentle, playful companion who’s ready to blossom into her best self, she just might be the perfect match for you!
