What we know: Local owner surrender, litter of four puppies approximately 8 weeks old, 3 girls / one boy. From the foster: Meet Peanut, a tiny explorer with a heart of gold and eyes you have to see to believe. At just two months old, this little Chihuahua is already capturing hearts with her unique, striking green eyes and her adventurous spirit. Peanut gets along with children and other dogs. While she’s small, she has a big love for the great outdoors; you can usually find her patrolling the yard on a mission to find the perfect stick or scouting out the best sunbeam for a warm afternoon nap. What we know: Transfer In / Other Organization – New Mexico (Española Humane) Approximately 2 years old at intake. Arrived with one littermate/brother from the same organization. From the foster: Arlo is a sweet, affectionate boy who’s ready to find his forever home. He took no time feeling like he was part of the home. He has shown nothing but warmth and love, and he truly thrives on affection and attention from his people. He’s also been wonderful with his foster’s dog, who is about his size, showing playful and friendly behavior. He should be good in any home where he can be showered with love. On walks, Arlo is a joy. He’s happy to let his walker take the lead, but he also loves stopping to sniff and explore the world around him. Arlo is crate trained and does very well overnight (or during the day when you are at work). He may whine briefly at first, but settles quickly and sleeps through the night without issue. He’s been a great house guest! If you’re looking for a loving companion who’s gentle, affectionate, and easy to walk, Arlo could be the perfect match. From the foster: Are you ready for the sweetest little shadow to be your bestie? Alfie is your guy! Alfie is such a calm and sweet soul. His favorite thing to do is follow his people around all day. Going in the kitchen? He’s there! Going to the bathroom? He’s there! He’s his happiest hanging at your side. He never jumps on furniture but if you invite him up he’ll gladly snuggle with you all day. Alfie is a dream and sleeps through the night in his crate without a peep. He’s 99% potty trained and has only had a couple incidents of marking in the house. He was recently neutered and as he gets more comfortable in his home, I imagine this will stop. He’s quickly picking up commands such as sit, stay, and leave it. He loves to go on walks and is a breeze with the leash. He doesn’t bark at people, dogs, or cars but just might want to go and say hi. He’s completely unphased by cats and isn’t intimidated by big dogs. This little guy is a very low maintenance and easy going dog who mostly just lounges around all day. He’ll need to be groomed regularly as he’s prone to matting. Alfie would be a dream in any home!
