Story
Relishing another chance at love, 11-year-old Rocky has swiftly settled into his foster home. Surrendered when his original owner entered hospice care, he’s 10 petit pounds of curly-coated cuteness, sweet, easygoing and calm, who makes grumbly noises when he wants attention, and enjoys nothing more than snuggling and cuddling with his foster mom. As relaxed as Rocky is most of the time, he also enjoys going for walks, walking very well on leash, playing with toys, especially squeaky toys, and engaging with his various doggy foster friends of assorted ages and sizes. Motivated by food and love, he knows “come” and “no,” loves lounging and eating in his crate and is almost fully house-trained. Now Rocky is ready to share his golden years with someone in search of a chill and cuddly dog, perhaps with a calm canine companion his size, to complete his training, including his commands, in return for a love like no other.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $100. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Making the most of his second chance at life is aptly named 14-week-old Mops. The 11-pound curly coated cutie, so new to the feeling of safety, remains understandably shy yet sweet as he settles into his foster home, growing more confident, paw step by paw step, with each passing day. Not only does Mops get along well with his doggy foster friends, he’s been learning all about the joy of playing with toys, and already has several favorites. Moderately energetic at the moment, he knows no commands, hasn’t gone for walks since he’s not been vaccinated, is never crated and is diligently at work on his house-training. Only just embarking on his new life’s greatest adventure, Mops will thrive in a loving home with another playful puppy already there and patient adopters who will teach him about “all things dog,” complete his training, including his commands, and guide him towards full and happy maturity.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. Story
Hello, I'm Annabelle. A world of scents, sounds, and tastes piques my curiosity daily. I'm a gentle soul, preferring quiet corners to boisterous crowds. Despite my shy demeanor, I have a friendly spirit, always ready to give a sweet nuzzle to a kind hand. I may take a moment to warm up, but once I do, you'll find a loyal friend in me. I dream of a home where I can explore my curiosity and share my sweetness. Adopt me, not just because I'm a good girl, but because I promise to make your life richer with love and companionship. ##2194571##

Story
Coco is a 2-3 year old sweet, friendly Shih Tzu from an owner surrender from a hoarding case. All of the dogs had eye problems, but one of Coco's was so full of infection it was removed and closed. She was also so matted that she required immediate grooming. Despite her history, Coco is a friendly, sweeet girl. She is dog, cat and kid friendly. Coco has been spayed and fully vetted already so she is ready to start her new life as a Colorado dog. Coco is hoping to hop on the PJ in San Antonio, destined for Colorado, on Thursday, October 17, just in time for spooky season! She needs a committed foster or adopter to be eligible- won't you treat her to a fall season and welcome her to your Colorado home? ##2196790##
