Story
Meet Lady, a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix! Lady is a cuddly lovebug who enjoys being with her human on the couch, in bed, and basically any place her human is, she will be. Lady is a very small, cautious, but precious little thing who loves to give kisses, play with her toys, and especially enjoys her outside time. She is learning how to walk on a leash while in a harness, and she quickly learned how to use the dog door with the help of her foster sisters. With full access to that dog door, she is fully potty-trained. Lady has also learned her name very quickly and fell into a routine with her foster siblings quite easily. Lady hasn't yet fully learned the concept of playing fetch, but she loves chasing balls and frolicking in the grass. Lady hasn't been around cats or small children, and her current home is fairly calm and quiet, which is her cup of tea. She gets along very well with other small dogs and would be a beautiful addition to a family. Lady is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Apply to meet sweet Lady today! Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2131322##

Story
See that girl, watch her preen, Annie’s our prancing queen!!!  Meet Annie a 2 year old chihuahua mix. Annie is a joyful noodle girl who loves to play. Annie seems to be learning what it is like to live in a house with human friends for the first time. She has mastered snuggling on the couch, playing with her foster brother and how squeaky toys work. She knows sit and is working on her leash skills and potty training, this girl will have it down in no time! Annie is gaining confidence day by day but new people and city noises are still a little scary.  Annie loves hanging out with her small foster brother and would do great in a home with or without another small pup. She's also cat friendly! Annie is still learning how to show affection to her human friends, so she would be best in a house with no or older children. She is such a sweet pup who is so ready to be loved. Reach out to meet Annie the prancing queen today!  Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2101798##

Giss is a friendly little guy who gets along well with other dogs, large and small, and is cat friendly. He can sleep a solid 7-8 hours overnight in his crate with hardly a peep. It took him a few days to settle into his foster home, but once he did, his happy, fun personality came out. He’s around 95% housetrained — just needs to stay in a good routine — and is getting better every day at walking on a leash. Giss will make a great companion in any type of household. Giss is a 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix and up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.  Adoption fee includes the following: Spay/Neuter Rabies Vaccination Distemper / Parvo Vaccines (includes series of 3 for puppies) Bordetella Microchip with prepaid lifetime registration Deworming ##2131320##

Story
Milo is a 7 (?) year old male chihuahua mix.  He's timid around new people but is loving and playful once you've gained his trust.  He's a goofy boy with tons of personality.  He likes to play with other smaller dogs but is a bit fearful of high-energy larger dogs.  Milo would do best in a quieter household without young children.  His favorite things are going for walks and his stuffed giraffe.  He also loves to snuggle up with his human on the couch or in bed.  Milo is filled with love to share with a person or family who will give him a chance.September 21, 2025, 2:11 pm

Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Rory finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Rory | 1.5-Year-Old Chihuahua Mix | Tiny Body, Big Heart Rory is a 1.5-year-old Chihuahua mix weighing in at just 12 pounds, with a handsome red-and-gold coat and a sweet, gentle soul. He’s still very much a work in progress when it comes to house training and is starting from scratch, so he’ll need a patient adopter who’s willing to help him continue learning the ropes. Despite that, he does well being left home for 6–8 hours with other dogs and settles in just fine overall. Rory enjoys going for walks, though his leash style has been lovingly compared to “walking a ping pong ball.” He has low-to-medium energy and is happy with short strolls, some playtime, and plenty of couch time afterward. He has shown positive interactions with dogs his own size and would likely enjoy having a similarly sized canine friend in the home. He hasn’t met cats or kids yet, and because he can be shy and a bit nervous, a calmer home—possibly without young children—may be the best fit. This little guy is playful, sweet, and very cuddly once he feels comfortable. He loves toys, especially plush squeaky ones, and is highly motivated by food, affection, and especially cheese. Rory responds well to structure and boundaries and is making progress, even if he’s not quite there yet. He’ll happily rest his head on you or roll over for belly rubs, soaking up all the love he can get. Rory’s ideal home is one with a yard, a patient family, and possibly another small dog to play with. With continued consistency, gentle guidance, and lots of reassurance, Rory is going to blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion who’s happiest curled up right next to you.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!
