Story
Percy – ID 15524 – Kennel 312 Chihuahua mix – brown – male – 5 years old – 11.5 lb Neutered – up to date on vaccines – heartworm positive – arrived Dec 7 Dog friendly (resident dogs are welcome to come for a meet and greet at the shelter) Percy is cute as can be and has the sweetest, most gentle presence. At just 11.5 pounds, he’s the perfect small companion — easy to scoop up, easy to walk, and happy to be right by your side. Percy loves going for walks and knows how to sit when told, showing off his polite manners and eagerness to please. Unfortunately, Percy did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care, he can go on to live a long and healthy life. If you live in Georgia, Cobb Animal Services will cover the entire cost of heartworm treatment if you adopt him. You simply bring him back for the scheduled appointments and give the prescribed oral medication at home. Percy will need to urgently leave the shelter so treatment can begin in a calm, loving environment. In his kennel, Percy is quiet and well-behaved, often found snuggled into his bed, calmly waiting for attention. He’s dog friendly, and potential adopters are welcome to bring a resident dog to the shelter for a meet and greet. It’s also important to note that heartworms are not contagious between dogs, so Percy can safely live with other canine companions. Percy is a wonderful little dog who asks for very little — just a warm bed, gentle walks, and someone to love him. He’s ready to trade his kennel for a quiet home where he can feel safe, cared for, and truly cherished. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
6-year-old Chipoo (Chihuahua/Poodle mix) with the sweetest personality and a big love for people. He’s a loyal, affectionate little guy who truly thrives on attention and being close to his humans. He is fully house-trained and well-mannered in the home. Like many small dogs, he can be a bit of a barker, especially when he’s excited or wants to let you know someone’s around. He does best in a home where he won’t be left alone for long periods, as he can experience some separation anxiety and prefers companionship.
