Story
A SWEET & LOVELY GAL:  Approx. 10 years old / Approx. 20 lbs. & needs to lose some weight Hi there, I’m Suri!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and now I’m getting a second chance at a happy life. I needed bloodwork and a good dental cleaning when I arrived and I've had those now, thanks to a generous grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization!  I’m currently in a great foster home while I wait to find my happily ever after!  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I wasn’t interested in them, though I did not show any aggression, so if you have a dog that isn’t looking for a playmate, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and did well with them, so a home with kids ages 10 and up could be a good fit for me.  Let’s meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m described as a gentle, adorable and fluffy sweetheart who’s just had a fresh haircut. I’m a pretty easy pup — friendly and sweet, which makes hanging out with me a breeze. I can be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, you’ll see just how sweet and loving I am.  Despite my age and weight, I currently have no issues going up and down stairs, enjoy a few shorter walks throughout the day, and the occasional chasing of a small frog in my foster’s yard.  During our walks, I sometimes do a little “reverse allergy sneeze,” which sounds like a funny snort — it’s harmless and passes quickly.  / Energy level: 3-5. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ command and I bet you can teach me even more.  / I’m doing well in my crate at Mostly Mutts and am doing well in my foster home at night as well as when my foster is away (a little treat to get me in there is always appreciated). / I only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule and am doing well in my foster home, so hopefully that will translate to doing well in my new home, too – of course there may be an adjustment period, and I do like to drink a lot of water. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy spending time with the nice volunteers and make a great front desk assistant / greeter to the friendly people coming to visit the shelter.  I just really enjoy people and being petted.  In my foster home, I am pretty chill and don’t care to play much – I just want to hang with the people.  I do enjoy a peanut butter Kong and other healthy weight-loss friendly treats (which I frequently beg my foster for).  Naps are great and I look forward to my average 8-9 hours of sleep each night, from around 10pm to 7am.  I cuddle with my foster on the couch, but need some help getting up there.  I’m sure we’ll discover lots of other things we will like doing together. / I don’t seem to love being outside – just take me to the bathroom and I’m ready to come back inside. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.  I came in with some fur loss and not sure if I’ll grow that fur back, but I don’t mind and I hope you won’t either.  I had 1 tooth pulled during my dental cleaning and my mouth is feeling fresh again.  I’ve been diagnosed with Cushing’s disease and I’m on a medication called Vetoryl that I’ll need to stay on for life.  I also had 2 small cysts removed from my belly.  I also take an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin which is good for all older doggies.  I’m trying some allergy medication, so just ask about that.   I’m so thankful that I was rescued and that I’ve gotten the much-needed vet care and love from all the nice folks at Mostly Mutts, and now I can’t wait to find my new family that will continue that love and good care.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  August 28, 2025, 11:48 am

Story
Sir Bentley Fitzsimmons a/k/a Bentley is and adorable, sweet and fun loving 9 yr old 11 lbs ( he's a bit chunky) Yorkie rescued from a local shelter. Bentley LOVES to play fetch more than anything, he also likes tug of war and playing with other small dogs. He is housetrained and will scratch at the door to tell you when he wants to go out. He was given up due do to landlord issues and we suspect that is because he has a very large bark for such a very small dog! He is heartworm tested negative, vaccinated, neutered, chipped and had a much needed dental and tooth extraction. He does not mind cats at all. Bentley seeks a local home with another small dog. Furniture privileges are fully expected. Fenced yard is preferred but not required. Due to his size, no small kids please. Local Inquiries only! Must haves: -Must be willing to play fetch a lot, and I mean a lot! -Must be willing to buy lots of toys -Must have another small dog - under 20 lbs -Must reside in Metro Atlanta Deal Breakers: -Apartments/Condos, anything that shares walls with the neighbor -Out of state or non metro Atlanta -Small kids -No similarly sized playful canine companion

Story
Meet Autumn — the sweetest season of all!  At not even a year old, Autumn is a 15-pound Yorkie mix with a heart as cozy as a fall sweater. This little snugglebug loves kids, kisses, and being right by your side — preferably in your lap! Autumn is fully house trained, crate trained, and leash trained — the total package!  BUT, she needs a home with a fully fenced in yard.  She dreams of finding a family who will take her on adventures, then curl up for movie nights and cuddles. She’s just starting to learn about other dogs and can be a little shy at first, preferring to quietly observe until she feels safe. With patience and love, her confidence will bloom like leaves turning gold. If you’re looking for a sweet, happy girl to fill your home with warmth and love, Autumn is ready to fall into your heart. Apply for consideration to adopt at www.ruffdogrescue.org  Please note, we receive a large number of applications. We appreciate your patience as we complete our review processes. A personal interview, reference checks, meet and greet with pet, home visit and a solid vet history are required for adoption.  Ruff Dog Rescue—Turning RUFF Starts into New Beginnings. ##2563616##

Story
Meet Hanna Barbera: A pint-sized homebody with a huge heart. Name: Hanna Barbera Age: 11 years young Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Mix Gender: Female Weight: 10 pounds of pure devotion (once she gets to know you) Are you an expert in the art of patience? Do you believe the best things in life are worth waiting for? Then you might be the perfect person for Hanna Barbera. Hanna Barbera is a distinguished lady who takes a minute to warm up. When she first meets new people, she employs a security protocol of barking and requiring a respectful distance to be maintained. The password to bypass this system is a combination of tasty treats, personal space, and a few days of patience. Once you're in, you're in for life. After she’s decided you’re her person, get ready for a loyal shadow. Hanna Barbera is the ultimate velcro dog, but with a twist, she’s not a lap dog. Instead, she’s a professional thigh-snuggler, preferring to press herself against your side on the couch. If you're busy, she's perfectly content to curl up in her own bed and dream of, presumably, you. This little lady has an impressive resume: Skills: Knows "sit," house-trained, has excellent recall (because she never strays far from her favorite human). Habits: Sleeps soundly through the night, rides beautifully in the car, and is a fantastic eater, though she prefers to dine in private, away from other pets. She’s mostly non-destructive, with a particular fondness for "customizing" dog beds that aren't made of sturdy material. Hanna Barbera is a proud homebody. Car rides are fine, but busy public places like stores are overwhelming for her. She finds her greatest joy in the comfort of a familiar space, taking "sniffaris" and napping in sunny spots. Her Ideal Home: Hanna Barbera is looking for a quiet, predictable home where she can truly shine. People: She needs a family where someone is home most of the time, as she gets anxious if left alone for more than four hours. Older, dog-savvy children are okay; the unpredictable energy of toddlers is too much for her. Other Pets: She can peacefully coexist with calm dogs who respect her boundaries after a very slow introduction period (think weeks, not days). She is not looking for a playmate. A home with cats is not a fit, as she believes they are for chasing. Environment: A private, fenced-in yard would be a dream come true, giving her a safe space for her sunbathing and sniffing adventures. Neighborhood walks are currently a bit too stressful for her. Hanna Barbera has made huge strides in her foster home, learning to trust and relax. She’s a sensitive soul who has so much love to give to the right person. If you're ready to offer the gentle patience she needs to blossom, you'll be rewarded with a fiercely loyal and loving companion for years to come. Story
Pru is settling into her foster home! She is house trained, loves toys, and is a dainty one - weighs a little over 7 pounds!   She is hanging with our two female dogs. They haven’t tried to take her toys, she may be a bit possessive of them - we will see. She does bring them to us and bark to get us to throw them for her.   Pru is sleeping in a crate in our room at night and crated when we both work.   She would love to meet you!
