Meet Luna! Luna has returned to Miri's Haven after more than a year in her adoptive home. Her owner had a medical issue and her family was unable to care for Luna. Luna returned to us completely bewildered, unsure what just happened, and with a few extra pounds that we're helping her shed with time and care. She loves sunbathing, snuggling, and taking long naps with her favorite people. She's housetrained and gets along beautifully with the other dogs in her foster home as well. Story
Meet Titan! Titan is the sweetest Yorkie gentleman with eyelashes that will melt any heart and manners better than most people on their best behavior. Because his humans are military and being stationed in Asia, they made the heartbreaking but responsible choice to get him into a rescue that can find him a family who will love him as much as they have. Titan is a sweet boy who loves snuggles and affection. He has been deeply loved, well cared for, and it shows. This lil’ king recently got a diagnosis of PLE (Protein-Losing Enteropathy ~ basically when the GI tract says “what if… we didn’t keep protein?”). But his loving family caught it early, got him on meds, switched his diet, and he is currently healthy and thriving. All he needs is a place to call home once again. Titan is approximately 10 years old and 7 lbs. More details to follow as we get to know him better. Fostered in Bristow, VA Please apply at MirisHaven.org

We want to preface this post by saying PUPPIES AND KITTENS ARE NOT HOLIDAY GIFTS! They are life-long commitments! Small dogs can live 15+ years with appropriate care. Please do not apply unless you're willing to provide a forever home. Meet Freya (F - black and white) and Miso (M - creamy white) - these two darlings are looking for (separate) loving homes. They are approximately 9 weeks old and currently weigh under 5 pounds. They are expected to stay small, we estimate 10-20 pounds. They are purebred Heinz 57 (likely some mix of Chihuahua/Shi-Tzu/Beagle/Dachshund based on the adult dogs in the home). Freya is a puppy through and through! She is full of energy and personality. She is independent, curious, and very smart. She is super playful, but when it is time to settle down, she snuggles right in and is a sweet and cuddly little girl. Miso is a snuggle bug. Smaller and more chill than his sister, he approaches the world more slowly and is a bit more timid than Freya. He is affectionate and sweet. But also full of puppy playfulness and energy. Because they are so small and they are quite mouthy, we will not consider adopting them out to families with babies or elementary school-age children. Because they are so young, someone must be home with them most of the day. Please note: The adoption fee covers all 3 sets of puppy shots, dewormings, and spay/neuter (at age 6mths).
