Meet Stitch: The Chihuahua with a Heart Waiting to Trust Again Introducing Stitch, a 5-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 13 pounds. Stitch was recently surrendered to Chloe’s Pet Rescue after his owners were displaced. Adopted from the SPCA several years ago, Stitch likely hasn’t seen a vet since—but we’re happy to report he is heartworm negative and ready to find a home where he can finally feel safe and loved. Chihuahuas have a reputation for being a bit particular, and Stitch is no exception. He is not a dog for everyone and absolutely cannot go to a home with children. Stitch needs someone with patience and a gentle touch to help him feel comfortable and learn to trust again. We don’t know what he’s been through in the past, but we do know that with the right person, he can learn what it truly means to be loved. If you’re up for the challenge and have the heart to give Stitch the love and understanding he needs, please submit your adoption application today. We are also searching for a foster home where Stitch can begin his journey of healing and trust. Are you the one who can show Stitch what love really is? ~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Treated for Heartworms, but still testing medium positive.  ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Meet Lil Buff, the sweetest, most laid-back boy you'll ever meet! At 7 years old and a petite 7.5lbs, Lil Buff is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a loving and mellow friend. He adores attention and loves to snuggle right next to his person on the couch or in bed. While he may bark occasionally, it's rare, and his favorite pastime is simply sunbathing in the backyard. Lil Buff has been treated for heartworms and is still on his journey to full recovery, so we keep things calm and quiet to help him heal. He may show some interest in chasing the cat, but he's wise enough to know when to rethink that plan—especially when it's a one-on-one situation! Buff is great at using the dog door, enjoys his meals, and loves a good nap. He's currently working on his house manners and has discovered that he absolutely loves carrots! This playful and adorable boy also gets along well with other dogs, making him a lovely addition to any home. Lil Buff deserves all the love and hugs a dog could ask for. It’s a must that you meet Bubba Lou! This tiny 6-pound Chihuahua is 11 years old and absolutely full of personality. He found himself at a kill shelter, out of time and out of luck — until we stepped in to give him a second chance. Bubba Lou is a smart little cookie who loves to run, play, and explore. He only has one true working eye (it’s micro, so we’re not sure if he can see out of it), but it doesn’t slow him down one bit! He has just two teeth left, and those will need to come out after a round of antibiotics. His jaw is slightly offset from years of dental issues, but it doesn’t cause him pain — and he still crunches on small kibble like a champ! Bubba Lou is curious, funny, and oh-so-inquisitive. He’s proof that big spirit comes in small packages. His adoption fee is $225 but will include his mini dental. Contact us today if you’re ready for a beautiful little senior boy in your life. This little guy may be small in stature at just 5 lbs, but his personality and energy level are triple his size! While Tony can be a bit shy around people, he absolutely loves his doggy siblings. He’s also getting along with his kitty siblings, but he’ll need some time and patience to grow that friendship. Tony enjoys running around the yard and playing with small toys—he goes wild for little tennis balls! He does well in his crate and sleeps silently through the night, eagerly hopping into his cozy space when bedtime rolls around or when his foster parents leave for work. Tony is making great progress with potty training and loves to go outside whenever he can. He is still getting used to wearing a harness and going for walks, but with continued patience and encouragement from his furry siblings and people, Tony will blossom into a more confident little boy. At about 8 months old, Tony is ready for a forever home where he can thrive. Story
Meet Marcus Marcus came to us from the Dallas shelter—again. He was previously adopted from there last year, but sadly, he was returned a month ago. Most dogs don’t get a second chance after staying that long without rescue, but somehow, Marcus held on. When we first saw him, he was trembling in his kennel. Today, he’s resting on a soft pillow, belly full, and finally starting to relax. He knows he’s safe now. Marcus is an oversized Chihuahua mix, about 9 years old and 18 pounds (though he could stand to lose a couple). He still needs a little time to fully decompress, but we already see glimpses of the sweet, gentle soul underneath the fear. He’s looking for a calm, loving home—one where he’ll never again have to face the inside of a shelter. Marcus would do best in a quieter environment. He’s uncomfortable around small children but is fine with older, respectful ones. If you’re ready to give a senior dog the love and security he deserves, apply today: chloespetrescue.org/application Let’s make sure Marcus’s next stop is his forever home. Adoption fee is $125 Complete your application today at https://www.chloespetrescue.org/application

Story
Harry’s journey to safety was nothing short of a miracle. Just three days after arriving at the shelter, he was placed on the euthanasia list. With only 15 minutes to spare, we were able to scoop him up and give this sweet boy the second chance he so deeply deserves. Harry is estimated to be between 5 and 8 years old and weighs just 9 pounds. When we first rescued him, his teeth were in terrible shape, but thanks to a major dental procedure, his mouth is now clean and healthy. He did lose several teeth, but still has plenty left for his favorite soft meals. His vet notes mention mild luxating patellas—a common issue in small dogs—but they don’t seem to bother him or cause any pain. About Harry: • Calm, gentle, and happiest lounging by your side • Sleeps soundly through the night in his cozy bed • Easygoing and not hyper—perfect for a peaceful home • Best suited for a home without small children Harry has so much love to give and is ready for his forever home—or a loving foster while he waits. His adoption fee is $225, which helps cover his veterinary care, including his recent dental work. If you’re ready to open your heart to Harry, please fill out an application and make this precious little guy part of your family. https://chloespetrescue.org/application
