Meet Beyonce — a beautiful, sweet, and very special girl with some special needs. When she first came to us, the outlook wasn’t great. Instead of accepting the worst outcome, we chose to give her a chance at the long, happy life she deserves. She was simply too amazing not to try for. After several months of care, treatment, and determination, we are finally at the point where we can begin looking for her forever home. It has to be the absolute purrfect home for her unique needs. Beyonce requires a strict gastrointestinal diet and does very well on Science Diet Biome (dry and wet). We strongly recommend keeping her on this diet for several months, or possibly permanently. The reason for this is that she came to us with a rectal prolapse that reoccurred multiple times and required external repairs over a two-month period. She was seen by a gastrointestinal specialist, thoroughly tested, and treated with medication. Ultimately, we chose to address the issue internally through strict diet and management rather than further surgery. The good news is that it has now been two months without recurrence, which is a huge milestone for this girl. With her strict diet, routine flea prevention that includes deworming, and a clean environment, we are hopeful she will continue to do well and avoid further surgery. However, adopters should understand that nothing can be guaranteed. Her future family must be committed to maintaining her diet, staying on top of monthly parasite prevention, and keeping a clean home environment. Many microscopic parasites can be tracked inside on shoes and clothing, and while they may not affect most cats, they could pose a risk for Beyonce. Throughout this journey, many people have fallen in love with her, and it’s easy to see why. Beyonce is truly a wonderful cat. Letting her go will be hard for us, but she deserves a permanent home where she can live her very best life with people who will love her as much as we do and are willing to do whatever it takes to keep her healthy. She is absolutely worth it. If her needs sound like too much to manage, that’s okay. She simply may not be the right fit for you. We believe in being completely transparent so that her future family understands the commitment involved. But when the right person comes along, someone willing and able to meet her needs, they will quickly see that adopting Beyonce is an easy decision the moment they meet her. Beyonce is estimated to be around 2 years old. She gets along well with other cats she has met and isn’t bothered by dogs. She loves attention, enjoys being brushed, and still has a playful side too. This special girl has fought hard for her second chance. Now she just needs the right home to give her the happy ending she deserves. While we do everything in our power to provide healthy rescues, it's important to note that some animals may have genetic health conditions we cannot predict (since we don’t have their family history). Additionally, medical tests—though highly reliable—can occasionally yield false negatives. Unexpected health issues may arise, either before or after adoption, but thanks to our thorough vetting process, the likelihood of a long and healthy life is very high.
