🩵 Meet Rook & Pawn — Bonded Pair! 🩵
Rook and Pawn are a gorgeous pair of Siamese mixes who are as sweet and entertaining as they are beautiful. These two have been together since they were kittens and have formed a special bond, so we are hoping to find them a forever home together!
🐾 Rook “Kona” Chess
Kona is an absolute head-turner, and she knows it! This beautiful Siamese mix has striking patchy dilute calico markings and the brightest, light-blue eyes you could imagine. But Kona isn't just a pretty face — she has a wonderful personality to match. She is playful, sweet-natured, curious, and inquisitive. She is always investigating her surroundings and keeping an eye out for her next catnip mouse or feather toy to pounce on. And when playtime is over? Kona is all about the cuddles. She adores being a lap cat and is perfectly happy to curl up in your lap while you read a book or relax on the couch. She is the kind of cat who wants to be involved in whatever you're doing.
🐾 Pawn “Smudge” Chess
Smudge earned his nickname from the adorable little “smudge” of black fur on his nose, which perfectly complements his gorgeous deep-blue Siamese eyes. Smudge is a total sweetheart with a BIG personality. He loves being held, is incredibly affectionate, and is a wonderful snuggler. Whether he's curling up beside you or being carried around for some extra attention, Smudge is happiest when he's close to his people. He has such an easygoing, loving personality that makes him incredibly easy to adore.
Kona and Smudge are your typical vocal Siamese, so their forever family should be prepared for plenty of adorable conversations! They also love their food — because what would a couple of growing kittens be without an enthusiastic opinion about mealtime?
They have done wonderfully with kids, adults, other cats, and even dogs. They are social, affectionate, playful, and genuinely wonderful little companions. Most importantly, Kona and Smudge are bonded. They have grown up together and are accustomed to having one another by their side. We would love to see them continue their lives together rather than separating them.
Kona and Smudge have an angel sponsor who believes these two belong together! Their generous sponsor is helping make it possible for this bonded pair to find their forever home together by offering a reduced adoption fee for the pair. We know that welcoming two cats into your family can be a bigger financial commitment, and we don’t want cost to stand in the way of the right family finding these two. If you feel that Kona and Smudge could be your perfect match but have concerns about the adoption fee, please reach out to us! We would much rather have a conversation with a wonderful potential adopter than let finances keep this special pair from finding the loving forever home they deserve.
If you're looking for two loving, playful, beautiful, slightly chatty Siamese companions who will keep you laughing and fill your lap with cuddles, Kona and Smudge may be your perfect pair! 🩵🐾

The Greater Houston area faces one of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the U.S. We’re a nonprofit on a mission—to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs at risk, while promoting spay/neuter outreach in the community. When you adopt, you save more than one life— the one you adopted, and the space opened up to save another.
