You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Richard was found in Ausstin and brought to the Mower County Humane Society after no owner replied to posts about him.  Richard is a siamese mix--ivory colored body with some darker tans and blue eyes. We are guessing that he was probably born sometime in 2023.  He was a very shy boy when he arrived here, but the finders carried him in so we know  he would mellow out with adjusting to all this stuff given extra time.  Richard is now neutered and current on shots.  He has tested neg for feline leukemia and positive for FIV.  He shows no physical signs of stress from being a carrier of FIV.  Adoption fee is $100 with an approved application which is available at mchs.rescuegroups.org.  We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time.  A pet carrier is required at the time of adoption and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS.  Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN.  We are located off of I-90 via exi 180B to 218 SOUTH.  We are just past our local airport.  THANKS.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 15, 2026, 3:24 pm

Look no further....   Max is a stunning 10-year-old Siamese who came to Mending Spirits when his family could no longer keep him. His entire world was flipped upside down so he took some time to settle into my home as he was grieving these losses. I found that by giving him plenty of patience, time and love (and wet cat food and churro treats) he has really started to blossom. Max prefers to follow me all around the house with cute little meows and enjoys our conversations throughout the day. He will often cuddle up next to me in the evening when I am working on a craft or watching a movie. He is just starting to show interest in toys especially wand type toys and fishing poles with feathers at the end. At night he is ready to settle into bed with me where he will cuddle in close with his purr motor going. Max will need a patient family who can offer grace with slow introductions and continue to teach him that the world is not such a scary place after all. Since then, this nice lady has given me a safe place where I can grieve, decompress, and learn to trust new people again.  I've met the other cats that live here. They seem okay. Well... except for the orange one. He gets a little cranky with the lady sometimes. There is also a really big cat here. At least I think it's a cat. It smells me a lot, but I don't mind it.  I enjoy having cozy places to curl up and sleep. The lady has given me lots of options, but my favorite spot is in the cat tower where I can keep an eye on everything while staying comfortable.  There are plenty of toys around, although I haven't felt much like playing yet. Maybe someday.  I prefer scratches over pets. My favorite spot is right above my tail. If you bring out a brush, you've pretty much won me over. I could spend hours stretched out getting brushed. T he lady tried putting me on her lap once. I quickly informed her that wasn't part of my current life plan. I hopped right down, but I stayed nearby so she could keep brushing me.  I think I would do best in a quieter home. Sudden movements and lots of activity can still startle me. I'm looking for someone who will let me adjust at my own pace and understand that trust takes time.  The lady says I have my days and nights mixed up. I'm not sure what she means. I simply prefer working the night shift. While she and the really big cat sleep, I patrol my room and make sure everything stays exactly where it belongs.   If you're patient, gentle, and willing to let me be myself, I think we might become very good friends. Svetlana is playful, loving, and completely adorable. She’s a true snugglebug who loves curling up with her person, happily making biscuits while soaking up affection. When she’s not cuddling, she’s busy entertaining herself with life’s simple joys—folded socks, strings, and boxes are her favorite toys. She has a hilarious “hunter” streak and proudly stalks dish towels from the kitchen, delivering her prizes straight to her chosen human like a gift of love. Svetlana is very curious about the outdoors and would love to explore, but she’s kept safely inside since she lives on a busy street and her people love her far too much to take any chances. Svetlana does have a skin condition that she takes medication for, and she handles it like a champ. With her care routine, she’s comfortable and happy. Sweet, silly, and full of personality, Svetlana has a way of stealing hearts the moment you meet her.
