Siamese kittens & cats in Albert Lea, Minnesota

Winter was found under someone's deck, scared but friendly. We took her in since she had been declawed. She had already been spayed, but we updated her vaccines and she is now ready to find a new family who won't throw her away. She is a beautiful girl and is very unhappy here in a kennel at the shelter - she would love someone to come and take her away from it all very soon. All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Richard was found in Ausstin and brought to the Mower County Humane Society after no owner replied to posts about him.  Richard is a siamese mix--ivory colored body with some darker tans and blue eyes. We are guessing that he was probably born sometime in 2023.  He was a very shy boy when he arrived here, but the finders carried him in so we know  he would mellow out with adjusting to all this stuff given extra time.  Richard is now neutered and current on shots.  He has tested neg for feline leukemia and positive for FIV.  He shows no physical signs of stress from being a carrier of FIV.  Adoption fee is $100 with an approved application which is available at mchs.rescuegroups.org.  We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time.  A pet carrier is required at the time of adoption and you must be 21 to adopt from MCHS.  Our address is 101 22 ST SE, Austin, MN.  We are located off of I-90 via exi 180B to 218 SOUTH.  We are just past our local airport.  THANKS.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2026, 1:38 am

Name: Max  Age: 10 (DOB 3/28/2016) Weight: 9 pounds Gender: Male Breed: Seal Point Siamese mix  Coat Length: Short  Color: Seal Point Dog friendly: testing available upon request Cat friendly: Yes, after slow introductions Child friendly: Older, school-aged, calmer, respectful children Litter Box Trained: yes Temperament: Outgoing, affectionate, talkative  Energy Level: low/moderate  Adoption Fee: $100 + tax To adopt, go to:  www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Looking for a new best friend? Look no further....   Max is a stunning 10-year-old Siamese who came to Mending Spirits when his family could no longer keep him. His entire world was flipped upside down so he took some time to settle into my home as he was grieving these losses. I found that by giving him plenty of patience, time and love (and wet cat food and churro treats) he has really started to blossom. Max prefers to follow me all around the house with cute little meows and enjoys our conversations throughout the day. He will often cuddle up next to me in the evening when I am working on a craft or watching a movie. He is just starting to show interest in toys especially wand type toys and fishing poles with feathers at the end. At night he is ready to settle into bed with me where he will cuddle in close with his purr motor going. Max will need a patient family who can offer grace with slow introductions and continue to teach him that the world is not such a scary place after all. Please consider opening up your heart and home to this handsome gentleman who just needs a second chance; he may be older but he has so much love to give.October 27, 2026, 9:32 pm

Name: Sam Age: Adult / DOB 3/14/2019 Weight: 12 lbs Gender: Male Breed: Flame Point Siamese  Coat Length: Short  Color: Orange  Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Yes Child friendly: Older children who respect his boundaries  Litter Box Trained: yes Temperament: Gentle, sensitive, affectionate, cautious in new situations Energy Level: Low Adoption Fee: $150 +tax   To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html   From the Foster Family: Sam is a sweet, gentle soul with a quiet heart. After losing his beloved person, he's taking things one day at a time and learning to trust again. He may be shy at first, but with patience, soft scratches, and a good brushing, his affectionate personality begins to shine. Sam is looking for a calm home where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished once more.   From Sam: My world suddenly changed when my person passed away. Since then, this nice lady has given me a safe place where I can grieve, decompress, and learn to trust new people again.  I've met the other cats that live here. They seem okay. Well... except for the orange one. He gets a little cranky with the lady sometimes. There is also a really big cat here. At least I think it's a cat. It smells me a lot, but I don't mind it.  I enjoy having cozy places to curl up and sleep. The lady has given me lots of options, but my favorite spot is in the cat tower where I can keep an eye on everything while staying comfortable.  There are plenty of toys around, although I haven't felt much like playing yet. Maybe someday.  I prefer scratches over pets. My favorite spot is right above my tail. If you bring out a brush, you've pretty much won me over. I could spend hours stretched out getting brushed. T he lady tried putting me on her lap once. I quickly informed her that wasn't part of my current life plan. I hopped right down, but I stayed nearby so she could keep brushing me.  I think I would do best in a quieter home. Sudden movements and lots of activity can still startle me. I'm looking for someone who will let me adjust at my own pace and understand that trust takes time.  The lady says I have my days and nights mixed up. I'm not sure what she means. I simply prefer working the night shift. While she and the really big cat sleep, I patrol my room and make sure everything stays exactly where it belongs.   If you're patient, gentle, and willing to let me be myself, I think we might become very good friends.
