Story
*Note: Currently, Tongky, is in Korea but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, pleae click here.BackgroundTongky was one of eight small dogs abandoned together in a rural area of Paju. Most of the dogs were Maltese and Spitz and were believed to have come from a breeding facility. After being abandoned, they were taken to a local high kill shelter. With no adopters coming forward, Tongky was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, he was rescued before that could happen. After his rescue, Tongky joined his first foster family, where he lived in an apartment with a young elementary school aged child for four months. He then moved to another foster home with a quiet young couple, where he has continued to thrive in a home environment.Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, his current foster family can only care for him until the end of June. We are hoping to find Tongky the loving forever home he deserves so he can finally settle into a family of his own and never have to experience another transition again.Personality and SocializationTongky can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men. However, once he feels safe and comfortable, his sweet and affectionate personality quickly emerges. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves attention and companionship. He is currently very comfortable with his male foster parent and enjoys spending time with him.Tongky gets along very well with other dogs and has shown good social skills in foster care. He like dogs who are friendly and respecful and are not too dominant. He has also lived successfully with a young child and would be suitable for a home with respectful children.BehavioursTongky loves going for walks and is easy to handle on leash. He enjoys exploring the world around him and looks forward to his daily outings. He is cooperative during grooming and bath time and handles routine care very well. Tongky rides reasonably well in the car. He may whine a little if sitting alone in a car seat, but settles with reassurance and enjoys being close to his people. He does not show signs of separation anxiety and has not displayed any aggressive behaviours. Tongky uses pee pads when needed and prefers to do his bowel movements outside during walks. He has a wonderful balance of energy. He enjoys running around and playing when it is time for fun, but he is equally happy to relax quietly beside his family when the day winds down.Health and DietTongky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been routinely dewormed. He receives monthly parasite prevention. When he was rescued, Tongky tested positive for heartworm. He successfully completed treatment and has been declared heartworm free. He has also received a full veterinary examination. He is healthy and ready for his forever home.Tongky eats regular kibble with a healthy appetite and has not shown any known food or environmental allergies.Ideal HomeTongky has experienced abandonment and uncertainty in his past, but he has never stopped believing in people. Beneath his slightly shy first impression is a loving, loyal companion who simply wants to be close to those he trusts. His ideal family is one that understand his gentle nature, and offer him the stability he has always deserved. In return, Tongky will reward them with affection, companionship, and unwavering loyalty. After everything he has been through, Tongky is ready to leave his past behind and begin a new chapter with a family who will love him forever.*Note: Currently, Tongky, is in Korea but will be arriving in San Francisco once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, pleae click here.

Story
Ashley: The Shy Soul with a Playful Heart Looking for: A patient, loving home ready to watch a timid girl blossom into her best self. Meet Ashley! Ashley is a gentle, sensitive pup who is still learning that the world is a safe place. Right now, her crate is her safe space. But the moment she's with her dog friends? Her personality truly shines. She zooms and she instigates play. Ashley knows how to have fun — she just needs to feel safe enough to show you. Her Perfect Match A Canine Companion: Ashley truly thrives alongside other dogs. She takes her cues from them, borrows their confidence, and uses their presence to feel brave enough to step outside her comfort zone. A resident dog at home would make all the difference for this girl. If not, be prepared to take some extra time to earn her trust.  A Patient Human: Ashley needs someone who understands that trust is earned slowly — and that every small moment counts. She's already taking baby steps: venturing out of her crate more, stealing her dog-mate's toys to chew on. A Low-Key Environment: A calm, quiet home where she can decompress and grow at her own pace is exactly what this girl needs to flourish. Once you win Ashley's heart, that loyalty will be one of the most rewarding things you've ever earned. She is ready to take her next brave step — could it be into your home? All dogs/puppies will be spayed/neutered unless spay/neuter contract is signed with additional deposit. Story
We love twotwo sooo much. We need to rehome due to taking care of ailing parents out of country for an indeterminate extended stay. So far we have had her stay with friends when we travel or have someone housesit Her gotcha day was 2/22/22. She was born some time in November 2021 and we adopted her as a puppy. She is a mix of a shi tzu and cavalier. Within a few weeks in our family she was bit on her face. She healed quickly with minor dental with snagletooth smile. Since then she is super scared of other dogs and became more protective of myself and husband. She is trained. She will sit and do some commands. Completely house broken. He commands are sit, heel, leave it and free. She is great with people once she warms up. She can be left alone after walks and during work day without accidents Rarely ever sheds even when hair is kept long. Does get motion sick in the car. We give her otc medication when we go out roadtrips recommended by vet and works well.
