Story
Freddie Weasley arrived at Santa Barbara County Animal Services in Santa Maria as a neglected stray, his coat tangled with mats and burrs. While at the shelter, he was neutered, but limited medical resources meant that the dental care Freddie—and many senior dogs like him—need wasn’t possible. On December 18th, we welcomed Freddie as a Frosted Face. He’s 10 years old, weighs just under 10 pounds, and is very sweet. Freddie went on a two-week Frosted Fling, spending the holidays in a foster home receiving lots of love and care while we learned more about him. Stay tuned for the full report! To meet Freddie, please email: placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org

Story
Age: 9 years old Gender: Male Breed: Shih Tzu mix Weight: 26 lbs Personality: Yuki is wary of strangers but will warm up to people with a bit of chicken and patience on the human's side. Yuki is a mellow guy who loves to nap next to you and lounge in the sun. Yuki is content to sleep the day away near his person but is also up for playing with stuffed animals and fetching! Yuki does well on leash but is quick to warn you that strangers are nearby. He has some barrier frustration, but is generally very easy going once he has warmed up to you. He loves going for car rides and is a great passenger, although drive thru cashiers may be startled at his sudden alerting. Yuki does well with other dogs. He is polite enough to leave old grumpy dogs alone but will play with young energetic pups. He does not resource guard his person, but does show some food guarding tendencies. It would be safest to feed separately. Needs a home with no children or older children who will treat him with respect and give him space as needed. If you have some chicken and just two days of patience, you will be rewarded with so much love. Yuki is an easy dog, he is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He is generally a gentle, mellow guy with great house manners. He has a case of stranger danger, but can be redirected when he is reacting. Yuki loves hanging out with his human, but does well when left alone. He will sleep until you return and greet you wholeheartedly. Yuki takes a little bit to warm up to his person, but once you earn his trust, you will find that no one else will look at you with as much love in their eyes as Yuki.  Education: Good with bathroom and leash training Favorite Activities: Napping, cuddling, chewing tags and eyeballs off stuffed animals, fetch, sun bathing. He's also extremely dog friendly Looking for: A sweet person or family who can give him space, be patient with him and respect/ advocate for his boundaries while he learns to trust humans. Ideally older and respectful kids are ok, and so are dogs. He is currently taking Prozac (~$5-10 for a month's supply, depending on market value and where purchased) to successfully help manage his anxiety around new people.  Adoption Fee: $ 350 ##1592807##

Story
Over the past year, our family's schedule and responsibilities have changed significantly. We've tried our best to make it work, but we've come to a difficult decision that it's time to find a new home for Mia where she can get regular routine, playtime, and exercise. Mia is 3 years old. She is sweet, affectionate, and smart. She loves daily walks, cuddles, and playing fetch. Our goal is to place Mia in a safe, calm, loving home. Mia is spayed, crate-trained, and tray-trained. We'll provide her medical records and transition supplies. The adoption fee helps cover her spay and vaccinations.

Story
Apa came to us from a Facebook 2020 from streets of playas of Tijuana. Once we got him , he was in the vet hospital for 3 days due to dehydration & neutered within the month. He is silly, loves to run around. Listens well. Enjoys running on the beach. He can't run like he used to. Gets along well with female dogs . He will get over protective over them if male dogs come around. After 2 mos of being with us, his front right paw would bleed at the tip. It turned out, he had broken bones in his 👋 they where like toothpicks poking thru his skin. He had surgery and now has a "hang loose" paw. He never cried or showed pain. A month later he stepped on a dead bee 🐝 tail. Due to age 8-9yrs old he's showing some light tremors on his hind legs. We have to rehome because we no longer have the space. He benefits from a adult household. He needs a human companion 24/7. He is loving and cuddling. If you leave he needs to be outdoors as he will mark. Travels well willing to drop
