Story
Meet Vinny, born in March 2009, a laid-back senior gent eager to bask in the joys of retirement in his own little slice of doggy paradise! Vinny, a Silky Terrier, embodies a kind, sociable temperament that warms hearts wherever he goes. While he adores gentle play with children, Vinny appreciates youngsters who understand the importance of respecting pet boundaries, leaving the energetic roughhousing to them. This mature pup delights in snuggling under the covers and sharing bedtime warmth with his beloved humans, forming quick bonds with new friends. Vinny's amiable nature extends to his furry housemate, showcasing patience and camaraderie with other dogs. Seeking a tranquil home, Vinny would thrive with a retiree, a couple, or a family who enjoys leisurely strolls, cozy TV time, quality family moments, and the comforting presence of a furry friend. Vinny, a lover of keeping laps warm, would benefit from belly bands indoors to address territorial behavior effectively and affordably. Additionally, adopters keen on embracing Vinny's needs should be aware of his occasional mild seizures, managed with CBD oil and Gabapentin. This senior sweetheart yearns for lazy afternoons observing the world from a window perch, snug embraces from his humans, and the serene life filled with love and comfort that he richly deserves. The suggested adoption donation for Vinny is $265. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs. If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
Meet Lexi and Ricky, our bonded pair!Lexi and Ricky were owner surrenders to no fault of their own. They have been depending on each other for a long time, so they will need to be adopted as a pair Lexi is a silky-haired terrier mix, with a bit more of a friendly nature, while Ricky is a Maltese mix that is a little more shy and cautious when meeting new people. Lexi and Ricky are starting to learn that making friends doesn`t have to be hard, but Ricky may let out a growl at first when being introduced to someone new. With patience and gentle handling, both will slowly start to grow more confidence and be more playful.Lexi and Ricky have not had the opportunity to meet with another dog since being at the rescue, so they would love to have slow, proper introductions to other dogs to make sure that they will be a good match. As for cats, we are unaware of their reactions to them. Given that Ricky is still needing some time to warm up to new people, a home with older children or no children may be best for them. They would love to find a home that would be ready to continue working on consistent routines with them, as they are not yet potty trained and currently rely on potty pads. They are currently working on being leashed to go outside to potty, but it is still a work in progress. Because they are still learning, they would love to have a home with a fenced yard where they can explore safely, but it is not required at this time. Lexi and Ricky can be quite vocal, so shared walls would not be the best fit for them.If you are looking for a pair of furry friends that need someone to trust and work at their pace, please fill out an adoption application on our website.
