Story
Courtesy Post - Miss DeeDee Fostered in CT. contact : saveadogger@gmail.com A super-cute little lady, only 3 yrs. Silky terrier mix. She is now taking applications for her new foster to adopt! She takes a minute to let her guard down due to her past of being left in a basement for months. But with cookies and patience, she will be your bestie, and will want to be with you all the time. But she doesn't mind her crate, if you have to go out to replenish her cookie, food, and bone stock. She will just bark a bit, then settle down, and wait for you. Energy -high. & high prey drive. * Fun and playful. Potty trained, yes. Although she is perfectly happy sitting next to you watching tv, or outside watching birds, trees. She is an escape artist* NO off leash, always on harness or fenced yard., so she needs someone with little dog experience who understands her quirks about her past. She does not like her bones trying to be taken from her. she has to agree to be picked up, or it won't workout. and she does not like the vet (vet ptsd), needs meds before getting her nails cut, or vet visit. She is UTD rabies, and has had her others previously. She is not ok with other dogs or pets she is too scared ,(although is ok walking by other dogs who are calm, she typically will bark), and no kids due to her past. She just wants to be the only fur-child. And after what she has been through , can. you blame her? So if you're looking for a BFF to hang with, work from home assistant, or perfect retirement friend, She's your girl. contact : saveadogger@gmail.com

Story
Drake and Maye are a deeply bonded pair who came to the shelter after the heartbreaking loss of their owner. After so much change, these boys are simply looking for a soft, steady place to land and a family to call their own again.Drake is the shyer of the two at first and may need a little time to feel comfortable. Once he knows you, he melts into a happy puddle of snuggles, happily flinging himself into laps and soaking up attention. He also enjoys long walks and time spent close to his people. Maye is the steady, confident presence in their partnership. He helps Drake feel brave and is often the first to greet new friends, offering quiet reassurance along the way.Drake is currently on a weight-loss journey and will need to be fed separately from Maye to help him stay on track. Their adopters should be prepared to continue supporting healthy routines for both boys.If there are children in the home, teens and older would be the best fit. Drake and Maye are ready to bring comfort, companionship, and quiet loyalty to a home that will cherish them together. If you are interested in adopting these wonderful senior boys, please visit the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between 12–4pm. Their combined adoption fee is $200 for both. If you are unable to visit during those hours, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to inquire about scheduling an appointment.

Story
Meet Teddy: glow-up king, calm companion, and certified good boy 🐾✨ Teddy is a 3-year-old owner surrender who landed in rescue after living in a home where his boundaries weren’t always respected. In stressful moments, Teddy tried to communicate his discomfort the only way he knew how. But since coming into foster care he’s shown just how sweet, gentle, and adaptable he really is. He may be slightly nervous when first meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and has recently done great with men he’s been properly introduced to (after he was not so pleased with a prior male veterinarian). Once he’s comfortable, Teddy is easygoing, affectionate, and happy to just hang out with his human. Teddy is quiet, gets along well with other dogs, is excellent in his crate, and reliably goes outside to potty. He’s also fantastic in the car—errands, vet visits, or road trips, he’s in. When he first arrived he was… let’s say rough around the edges (scruffy and flea-loaded), but after some TLC and a proper grooming, he’s now looking polished, handsome, and feeling much better about life. He’s currently fostered in a busy household with four young kids (ages 2–10). He likes the kids, but all the activity can be a bit overwhelming at times, and if he feels uncomfortable he may nip. Because of this, Teddy would thrive in a calmer home or one with older, dog-savvy kids who understand canine boundaries. He’s also totally fine with the resident cat. He’s had only a couple of indoor accidents, likely due to the hustle and bustle rather than a lack of training. Teddy is looking for a loving, lower-stress home where he can relax, feel secure, and continue to blossom. If you’re searching for a quiet, well-mannered companion with a sweet heart and a freshly groomed shine—Teddy might just be your perfect match 💙 If you are interested in finding out more about Teddy, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Teddy is being fostered in Hopedale, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
