Story
Little Snowball arrived to the shelter as a stray, extremely underweight, so very hungry and with coat that was terribly matted as can be seen in his last photo. Please read his entire bio before reaching out to the shelter. Snowball was so underweight that shelter staff had to carefully feed him through his first couple weeks to make sure that he was able to safely process food after almost starvation. But this tiny 10 lb. boy has proved to have quite a determined, sassy attitude! Snowball wants to get to know people at his own pace. He is looking for an adult only home with no kids, dogs or cats. If children are going to be visitors, his new adopters should be prepared to have a spot for him to be safely kept away. This guy has lost some trust in people, but is trying awfully hard to make connections. Snowball is clear about his need for space, and will give a warning growl to people who push him too fast. Once he is comfortable, he will crawl up and cuddle.Snowball would like a quiet home, with adult adopters only who are willing to go very slow on getting to know him. If you need a dog to pick up and snuggle right away, he is not the pup for you. Snowball has been through a tough time and may do best with local adopters who are able to come to the shelter multiple times in order to gain his confidence. Although his coat was trimmed down, he will require regular professional grooming to keep him comfortable, and his new adopters' should be prepared for that cost. If you are viewing Snowball's profile on Adopt-a-Pet, please head to our official website at worcesterarl.org and click on his photo to fill out the Dog Adoption Inquiry Form to request a meet with him. All adoptions are by appointment, thank you!

Story
Meet Shaggy! Shaggy was found as a stray and transferred to us after he wasn't claimed because we had a foster to adopt lined up for him. however, that home backed out as he was on his way due to an unexpected medical issue. Now Shaggy is in need of an adopter of a foster home. Shaggy is a cute little guy with the best underbite! He bonds to his human quickly and will be your shadow dog. Shaggy plays well with dogs his size but is nervous with larger dogs. A home with another small dog would be considered. Shaggy despises the crate and being restrained. He should have his own small space without a crate during his 3/3/3 rule decompression period and whenever you leave him home alone until he is fully potty trained. No young children for this little guy. *** If you are interested in finding out more about Shaggy, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO-A-80 Shaggy is being fostered in Worcester. The adoption fee is $350. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
