Story
Are you or your family looking for a spunky little companion that will be your inseparable shadow for every activity? Malla could be that special little dog. Part Silky Terrier, she wants nothing more than to be your lapdog and escort for the rest of your life. She loves attention, and dances around when her humans come home. She is fabulous with kids over 5 (more attention) and could take or leave other dogs (humans are clearly her favorite!). She is obsessed with cucumbers!! Malla was rescued from a local shelter where she came in as a stray. She weighs about 8 pounds and is about 5 years old. When the vet spayed her, they thought that she had previously had puppies. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Meet Bingo! This adorable 2 year old little (13 lbs) boy was found as a stray so we don't know anything about his past. His foster mom reports that he is very playful and is persistent in getting you to play with him. He is great on a leash and loves his walks but he will bark at other dogs and people. He is dog friendly and plays with his foster siblings but dog parks may be a bit much for Bingo.  Bingo is living in a home with older kids but we feel he would do best in a home with no kids. He can be a tad timid at times and we can't pin point what makes him uncomfortable but he will let you know.  Bingo loves to snuggle on the couch with his foster mom. She refers to him as a 'snuggle bug'. If you are looking for a lap dog to keep you company and warm while watching your favorite show...Bingo is your boy!  To meet Bingo in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2599098##
