Story
Orion, my little 8 pounder, is 2 years old and is in need of a loving home with no dogs or kids. He is sweet as can be when he wants to but occasionally he has his expressive moments (specifically when being naughty). He is scared of kids but it could possibly be worked on. He has been co-existing with another dog as well but has recently started growling when they get too close. He is a calm dog and also has his playful side filled with the zoomies or playing fetch with tennis ball. He also is a great explorer (he runs out as soon as our gate is a foot from closing). I sadly am unable to maintain having him here because of my little sister and other dogs being introduced into the house. He would do great with a simpler lifestyle where he can fully be his curious self.

Story
Meet Max! This super sweet terrier mix was found living outside but seems to be more used to being an inside lap dog. He is 17 lbs and is estimated to be a little over a year old with a playful puppy spirit. His fur is soft and silky with a beautiful mix of whites, grays, and browns. Max is healthy, chipped, and neutered! Max is good with kids and loves dogs so much that if he's out on a walk and can't meet a dog he sees, he will whine and try to go say hello. Max has figured out the doggy door, knows some basic commands, and sleeps in his kennel. He likes to play with toys and enjoys wrestling with his dog buddies. This adorable boy needs an active family who will walk him every day and play with him. He loves to cuddle and will snuggle up to his favorite people. Max would do best in a home with other dogs. To meet Max in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2617017##

Story
Copper is a lovely dog but we have a toddler now that really don’t know how to measure his strength and as a mom worries me that one day for self defense, Copper will make justice. We are pregnant with our second baby and it’s a little bit too much for mom to keep up with this situation. Other than that Copper would have stayed with us.

We are currently having issues with our adoption inquiry webform. If you have any questions or would like to schedule an appointment to visit with an animal or multiple animals, please email us directly at info@animalhope.org or call us 817-984-1129 between 12 pm and 6 pm. Bea is still looking for her forever home, and her adoption fee is $300 but we could be flexible, meaning you are welcome to name your own fee. This sweet and curious girl is about 2 years old and weighs around 18 pounds—just the right size for adventures and afternoon cuddles 🐕💫. While she can be a little independent at first, it doesn’t take long for her gentle, affectionate nature to shine through once she feels comfortable and safe. She’s an inquisitive soul who loves to explore her surroundings, and she gets along well with other dogs 🐾. Bea would thrive in an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and loving companionship. One of her favorite things? Kiddie pools! 💦 Anytime she heads outside, she makes a beeline straight for the pool—splashing, lounging, and soaking up the fun. It’s her happy place, and it’s absolutely adorable to watch. When she first arrived, Bea was recovering from chemical burns—but this resilient little pup has healed beautifully and hasn’t let her past dim her bright spirit 💖🔥. Now, she’s more than ready for a fresh start with a family who will show her the love she’s always deserved. If you're someone who believes in resilience, healing, and the joy of new beginnings, Bea might just be the perfect companion to welcome into your heart and home 🫶✨____We want every animal in our care to begin their next chapter in the best possible health, so when you adopt from us, you can expect:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochip placementAll core vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing and treatment as neededFlea, tick, and heartworm preventionA complimentary wellness exam 7–10 days after adoptionPlease note: because we don’t observe our animals in home environments, we can’t guarantee they are housebroken. Adopters must be 21 or older and live within an hour of our facility.Do you have any questions or would you like to set an appointment for a meet and greet?

He’s an 8‑year‑old Shih Tzu who weighs about 9lbs—a little guy looking for a calm and loving place to call home.Kenzo was surrendered to us due to new babies in the home, which caused him anxiety. Since arriving, he has shown that he does not like other dogs and does not respond well to correction. He’s an active old man. Our veterinary team noted that Kenzo has a heart murmur, but he does not require medication for it at this time. Otherwise, he has been fully cleared as healthy and is ready for his forever family 🏡💛. Because of this sensitive nature, Kenzo would do best in a calmer home with no young children. Please note: Since we don’t observe our animals in home settings, we cannot guarantee potty training. Each pet may need time, patience, and guidance to adjust to a new routine.Every animal adopted from us receives:Spay/neuter surgeryMicrochipUpdated vaccinationsBlood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)Flea/tick and heartworm preventionA free wellness exam within 7–10 days of adoptionTo adopt, you must:Be at least 21 years oldLive within 1 hour of our facilityDo you have any questions, or would you like to set an appointment to meet Kenzo and see if he’s the perfect fit for your home?
