Meet Rizzo! PLEASE NOTE: Contact Amanda at 619-347-1149 or Shirley at 619-987-8274. ARRF does not have a shelter, and this dog is from another rescue. Do not call ARRF. Thank you. Rizzo is a beautiful three-month-old female Fox Terrier mix who was rescued locally. She is one of the sweetest girls. She has a loving temperament towards people and is very playful with other dogs. She is calm, quiet, inquisitive and ready for fun. Rizzo has been wormed, and is up-to-date with her Distemper/Parvo shots. She is house trained and weighs about 10 lbs. Please contact Amanda at (619) 347-1149 or Shirley at (619) 987-8274 to meet this sweet girl. Rizzo's rehoming fee is $100. Thank you for your interest in helping a rescued dog.

ARRF does not have a shelter, and this dog is from another rescue. Do not call ARRF. Thank you. Benjamin is a handsome three-month-old male Fox Terrier mix who was rescued locally. He is one of the sweetest boys. He has a loving temperament towards people and is very playful with other dogs. He is calm, quiet, inquisitive and ready for fun. He is good on a leash and crate trained. Good with kids, he is also good with cats and other dogs. Benjamin is house-trained, weighs about 10 lbs., has been wormed, and is up-to-date with his Distemper/Parvo shots. He will probably weigh about 25 lbs. when fully grown. Story
Meet Luca! This baby-faced boy transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society. When Luca first arrived, he was scared, wanted nothing to do with the staff, and would follow us when we turned around only to run away the second we turned to face him. After a couple weeks, he warmed up to us and was glued to our sides for attention! Luca loves to hop around both behind us and in front of us, demanding attention whenever he's not preoccupied with playing amongst his friends or roaming across the play yard. Behavioral considerations: When encountering two female employees during his original transfer, Luca barked but kept his distance. In a couple of weeks, he was already soliciting attention and acting completely normal. When encountering a new male employee, Luca expressed intense fear by barking and lunging at the new employee. After about a week and a half of working with him, Luca is now good pals with our new employee! Due to how Luca expresses fear of meeting new people, particularly men (a general fear of men over women is quite common in most dogs), an experienced adopter will bring out the best in him. With the assistance of our trainer, we will be working with him on leash training as he currently freezes up entirely once a lead is placed around his neck. For now, our trainer has gained his trust and was able to cuddle with him. Luca is a work in progress. We do not know what he experienced in his life that made him feel intensely unsafe around strangers, but we are helping our boy out the best we can. In a home and secure backyard setting, he will follow you around wherever you go! Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.

Meet Goose! This goofy goober transferred to us from the San Diego Humane Society! Goose was previously adopted from SDHS and returned days later after his owners realized they had no time to care for a young and active pup. Goose is an extremely goofy, bouncy, and energetic ball of love! He is having the time of his life with his new pals and loves being a part of the pack! His quirky, left-sided head tilt adds character to his already silly self! Health considerations: Goose had a right cryptorchid (retained testicle) that was removed without incident and is resolved. He displays a left-sided head tilt which does not affect his balance or quality of life. Due to this history, our vet thinks he was born with congenital birth defects. Regarding COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses: Please reschedule any visits if you are sick.
