Story
Meet Scooby, an 8 month old puppy with an endearing personality. He is super sweet and a little nervous so he appreciates people that are patient enough to let him warm up a bit. I mean, all good things are worth a little bit of a wait....Scooby's affections is absolutely one of them! He loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog to show him how to roll. He loves to give kisses and will roll over for belly rubs. His zest for life is infectious, and he has a knack for making everyday moments feel special. With Scooby, there's never a dull moment. He's not just a pet, he's a friend who'll stick by your side, making you laugh and giving you all the love he has to offer. Adopt Scooby and let him fill your life with joy, laughter, and unconditional love. Scooby Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pup’s with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pups at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Huck is a yr old and weighs about 45 lbs. He is happy to meet people, plays really well with others & is very submissive in his meeting of new furry friends. He's a goof ball at heart and will make you laugh at his facial expressions. He is working on his house manners & will need some more training because he still likes to jump up for attention. Little ones that fall over easy might get knocked over in his excitement, but older sturdy kids should get in line to adopt this sweetheart because he is going to be the more fun best friend a kid could hope for. He is smart and treat motived so training him will be really rewarding. Huck is an all around great dog and he is going to make a great addition to his new family. Huck is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! Story
We would like you to meet Tuco! Tuco is a very handsome 1 year old St. Bernard who is looking for his forever home! Tuco is a sweet, initially reserved boy that is going to make his forever home very happy. Tuco is good with dogs of all sizes and is good with kids as well. We are unsure how he is with cats. Tuco is house broken and crate trained. He would love a family that is willing to spend some time on training with him but he’s a well mannered, sweet boy. Tuco is already tipping this scales at 150 pounds at only a year old so his forever family should be ready for 180-200 pound dog once he is done growing/filling out. Since Tuco is a lot of dog, we would prefer his forever home have precious XL breed experience.  If you’d like to welcome this good boy home, please visit our website and fill out an application. She is a sweet, silly girl who does not know her size.  Charley is a typical happy, playful puppy who is very friendly and loves everyone! She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. Story
Meet Sunshine Louise! This beautiful Anatolian Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix is super sweet and wants to be your best friend. She currently weights about 90 lbs. She is house trained (she will ring bells on the back door to go outside). She is very well behaved and does not require a crate indoors. Sunshine is a very, very laid back girl….until she feels the need to guard her home. We are unsure of her age, but the guess is around 6 years old. She is smart and very treat motivated. She loves to go on walks especially first thing in the morning and after the sun goes down. She LOVES people and kids! She is good with other dogs as long as they respect her boundaries. She easily integrates into a pack, but remains kind of a loner. She is spayed, (after having 10 puppies), microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. She has also completed Heart Worm treatment. Sunshine loves belly rubs and pets. She will look lovingly and longingly into your eyes like she knows that her life has been saved and she is so very grateful. She is a very calm girl who prefers to lay on the cool floor. She is a “guardian” breed and will quietly take up a position (usually in a doorway) and just relax. She knows basic commands but does have a stubborn streak. Usually a treat will encourage her to follow your directions. Sunshine does have a high prey drive, so no cats or tiny toy breeds please. She also has a history of fence jumping to pursue wildlife, so a privacy fence would be ideal. If you would like to meet this precious girl and make her part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Sunshine is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members.
