Blackie is beautiful shepherd! As we are not in the habit of splitting up pairs, we are looking for a home that will take them together! Double the love! . Good with other dogs, kids, adults. Neutered, heartworm, negative, vaccinated, and microchips. Owner surrender , speak Spanish (but willing to learn English!) looking for his furever home. |Santiago is a striking dog with a mostly white coat and a unique mix of white, tan, and grey on his face. He looks like a blend of Shepherd, Anatolian or Pyrenees, and Great Pyrenees, and carries himself with a gentle, thoughtful presence. At around 50 pounds, he’s a medium-large dog with a calm energy that makes him a steady companion. In the care of a foster home, Santiago has shown that he can settle when given space, patience, and quiet encouragement. He is comfortable in a household with other dogs and doesn’t react to normal activity or people moving around, showing that he can learn to feel safe in a calm, structured environment. Car rides are still a bit overwhelming, and new experiences can be intimidating for him, but with a gentle guide, Santiago is beginning to show curiosity and trust. He is not destructive and adjusts well when left alone in a secure, quiet space. Santiago is looking for a patient home that can continue to help him gain confidence, offering calm reassurance and gentle guidance. With the right family, he has the potential to blossom into a loving, loyal companion.

This adorable pup is undergoing Parvo treatment through APA! and is expected to make a full recovery. They are not quite out of the woods yet and will need a few more days to complete treatment before leaving the Parvo ward; but that doesn’t mean they can’t start getting the word out that they need an adopter lined up for when they are ready to leave! If you are interested in learning more about me you can email tarrytown.dog@austinpetsalive.org. Please be aware that they absolutely cannot go home until they test negative, but we will be taking 1-2 people’s information to be lined up for their adoption.
