Sitter needed: 10/25/24 - 10/30/24 Meet Pumbaa, the gentle and loving pup at who's ready to find his forever home! Pumbaa is an easy-going dog who walks well on leash and enjoys his daily strolls. He's not much of a puller and makes walks a breeze. Although we're not sure about his experience with crates, he seems to be comfortable in them. This smart boy knows some basic obedience skills and is always eager to go on walks. He's so polite that he even sits patiently before you open the door to his kennel. Pumbaa is a friendly dog who loves meeting new people. He's very affectionate and enjoys getting scratches and cuddles from his human friends. He'll gladly sit next to you for as long as you're willing to pet him. While we're not certain about his favorite activities, Pumbaa seems to enjoy stopping to sniff around during walks. Story
Hello, I'm Toby! I'm a resilient and loving dog with a heart full of hope. My past has been tough, and I've never truly known the warmth of a loving home or the comfort of regular meals, so I might seem a bit food-focused. But I'm ready to leave that behind and embrace a new chapter filled with love and stability. I'm potty trained and incredibly smart, picking up new skills quickly. I thrive on affection and already know basic obedience commands. My friends at APA have seen how good of a boy I am and believe in my potential to bring joy to a new family. When you bring me home, you'll also receive a lifetime of free training from APA, ensuring we have all the support we need to thrive together. I'm eager to show you just how loving and loyal I can be. If you're ready to offer a special dog a chance to experience a true, caring home, I'm ready to be your faithful companion. Let's make wonderful memories together!

Story
Mercedes is available in TX, PNW and NE (Excluding MA) Meet Mercedes aka Benz! Mercedes is a delightful 8 month-old Anatolian Shepherd mix, weighing a sprightly 25 pounds. His recent outing was nothing short of spectacular as he took almost no time to open up, happily allowing pets from adults and kids alike without any hesitation. This playful and energetic pup loves all toys and enjoys running around. While he can be a bit possessive of his toys, he has not shown any signs of aggression. Overall, Mercedes is still very much a puppy and would thrive with more one-on-one training. He may start off a bit shy, but it doesn't take long for his playful and affectionate side to shine through. Currently working on his leash training, Mercedes is making good progress. Mercedes is very comfortable in his crate, making it a great space for him to relax and feel safe. He can be quite vocal when he's scared of noises like the TV, speakerphone, or Alexa. Highly food and toy motivated, Mercedes is great for training purposes. Like most puppies, he loves biting and chewing, so having plenty of chew toys on hand is a must. He enjoys solo time and can be quite independent. While Mercedes can play a bit too rough with smaller dogs, supervision is recommended. Mercedes is looking for a loving home where he can continue to grow and learn. If you're ready to invest time in training and provide a nurturing environment, Mercedes will be a loyal and fun-loving companion. Come meet this sweet boy and see if he's the perfect addition to your family! Mercedes is being fostered in Texas. His adoption fee is $250 in state. For an additional $250, he can be transported out of state. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Cagney is available in TX, PNW and NE (Excluding MA & NH) Meet Cagney, an Anatolian Shepherd puppy with a heart as big as her future size! This sweet girl loves playing with her puppy pals and is always up for a game of fetch. Her affectionate nature shines through as she eagerly comes when called and enjoys every moment with people, making her the perfect snuggle buddy. Cagney has a very loyal side, and loves to be close to her family. She gets along famously with all her dog friends and is great with cats! Cagney is crate trained & potty trained. Given her expected large size, a home with a yard would be ideal for her to romp and play in. She has mastered the art of riding in a car and is calm and loads up easily. She would be a great companion for those with an adventurous side. She came to us with a broken leg so long hikes or runs may not be the best for her. Currently being fostered in Seguin, TX, Cagney is spayed, fully vetted, microchipped, and on preventatives. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will bring joy and energy to your home, Cagney is the puppy for you. Don't miss the chance to welcome this resilient and affectionate girl into your family! To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Poor Daisy was dumped across the street from her foster moms’ house on Easter Sunday. They watched the car drive away with her chasing behind, but she gave up pretty quickly and started sniffing around to try to figure out where she was. Daisy’s panic was cut short when her foster moms scooped her up and took her to their home.  She was skin and bones, all ribs, hips, and vertebra plainly visible, with scabs and sores all over. She tested positive for heartworm and hookworm. Her foster moms are working closely with their vet to get her healthy for her forever home.  Daisy is a big girl - at 50 lbs emaciated, she’ll likely be 70-80 once she’s filled out. She is estimated to be 4-5 years old.  She quickly fell in love with her foster moms and wants to be as close to them as possible at all times. She’s working on the concept of “personal space” but hasn’t quite grasped it yet.  She gets along well with the resident cats but needs to be leashed around the outside animals (chickens, goats, horses, etc).  She can be dog reactive so needs a home without other dogs and to be walked in areas with low dog traffic.  Because she was starved, she does have some resource guarding issues with food and currently needs to be fed in a crate. She walks amazingly on a loose leash.  She house trained and is working on crate training.  She has not yet been tested with children but with proper introduction, her foster moms expect she would be fine, though she might knock them over trying to get pets. As underweight as she is, she’s still pretty strong!  Daisy loves tug of war and is learning about every other way she can have fun. We’ll continue to update her bio as we get to know her better.  September 4, 2024, 2:20 pm

Story
Sully was brought into the vet’s office in Corpus Christi by someone who said they found him wandering. The vet staff quickly became attached.    He’s a huge boy at 151 pounds but is a true gentle giant.    He hasn’t been around other dogs much, but with proper introductions we think he’d be fine.    Sully is currently being treated for heartworms. He is blind and mostly deaf so would do best with an adopter who has experience or who is willing to learn how to properly care for him.  September 4, 2024, 2:20 pm
