Story
I adopted Rye when she was 12 weeks old. Her birthday is 10/04/2022. She is an amazing dog and loves to play. She still has her puppy energy. She does great with all dogs and would do well in a home with another playful dog! She rarely barks, is completely crate trained, and housebroken. She could use a bit more training on the leash. Biggest disclaimer: She needs surgery for one of her hind legs. (Roughly $5000) I would love to be able to keep her but unfortunately, financially I am unable to give her the life she deserves.

Story
Meet Dutch — a resilient soul with the kindest eyes and the softest heart. This sweet, pajama-wearing gentleman was abandoned by the only family he’d ever known, left outside to starve when they no longer wanted him. Despite it all, Dutch is still a total sweetheart who just wants to be loved again.   He’s housebroken, crate trained, quiet when left alone, and great with other large dogs and kids — he actually grew up with children in his previous home (you know, before they dumped him on the streets without a second thought). Dutch is mellow, affectionate, and the ultimate hangout buddy.   His only flaw? He thinks cats are suspicious little aliens and would prefer a feline-free home. But really, nobody’s perfect — unless you don’t have a cat.   If you’re ready to give this pajama-clad prince the second chance he deserves, Apply.     This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2356621##

Story
*Name: Heather*Age: 5 years old *Current Weight: 54 pounds*Rescued from: Massachusetts Neglect Case*Adoption fee: $550 (includes $50 refundable positive training commitment deposit)*Health: Up to date on vaccines Heather Locklear was named by her previous shelter in Georgia. We think the name suits her as she is definitely a timeless beauty, and we loved Amanda from Melrose Place. ICONIC!  Heather was adopted for a year by someone who did not take the best care of her. She was not given heartworm preventatives despite being free of the disease, and was surrended to local animal control in Massachusetts after her previous owner moved to the area. She was sadly positive for the disease. She has had an angel medical foster since October 2024, who has helped get her through her heartworm treatment. Heather's fight to get healthy has been nothing short of miraculous; she such a warrior! It is now her time to move to a new foster or better yet a foster to adopt!  Heather will need a very special foster, who will be able to spend time with Heather, giving her the love, care, and patient training she deserves. She will need to be kept on exercise restriction of short walks through early to mid-March while her injections do the work to eradicate the heartworm.  Heather is potty & crate trained, good in the car, food motivated, respectful of the home when uncrated (though will counter surf if you leave things out!), and she loves to love you. Cuddling is her favorite.  Heather's medical care will be covered by our rescue until she tests heartworm microfilaria negative. She will of course need to be on mothly heartworm preventative for life. Depending on results of an echo in July she may need to be on heart meds for life.  We understand that Heather needs a very special commitment and are willing to do whatever we can to help support whoever falls in love with her (which is easy to do!).  Heather has been fostered with a frenchie, who is calm and respectful, and they have done well. We do not have a lot of info about her with cats or many other dogs so we would recommend slow and careful intros, which we could advise on. Since she needs to be kept somewhat chill during recovery, we do not recommend a super active home. She is strong and jumps up at times (she is working hard on a solid Sit Stay) so we do not recommend a home with small children. If you would like to meet Heather please complete an application on our site. We will then be setting up meet & greets. She is being fostered North of Boston.  Heather is available for Meet and Greets, and our foster to adopt program. Please let us know if you would like to meet her by emailing us at rescue@bark-n-roll.com. To apply to adopt, fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Please note that RnR is a volunteer-based organization. While volunteers review applications as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the following information about our adoption process:LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents. We rarely know a dog's exact age or full breed mix of dogs, as our information is usually limited.RNR’s ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting one of our adoptable pups is to fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Once we receive your application, one of our volunteers will contact you, review our adoption process, and answer any additional questions you may have. It is important to note that we do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions but on the best fit for a family and, most importantly, the dog.MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until your adoption application is submitted and reviewed.APPLYING ONLINE: When completing an application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device); make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible and that you receive a confirmation email. ##2278845##

Story
Name: Maple Age: 3 years Current Weight: 55 pounds Rescued from: Texas (currently fostered in MA) Adoption fee: $550 ( adoption fee includes a $50 positive training reimbursement) Health: Up to date on all vaccines When our founder was contacted about Maple's story she knew we needed to help. Maple has spent most of her life, over ONE YEAR, in a shelter in a small and dirty kennel run. Despite her rough start in Texas, Maple is as sweet as syrup and will no longer be overlooked. She is thriving in foster! She loves to hang under her foster mom's desk while she does zoom calls and chill in the yard in her jammies. As you can see by her photos, she loves to snooze and play! Her name is especially appropriate because she has "sticky fingers" when it comes to tennis balls - she is obsessed with them! She loves to play her version of fetch, where you throw it once, and she races to pick it up, but she never actually brings the ball back to you. She prefers to hold on to it herself and will run around with it in her mouth for ages-no need to throw it again! She does like it if you chase after her for it so she can show off her keep-away skills. She's an EXPERT! Another great love of Maple's is treats. The only way we found to get a ball back from her is to offer her a treat! She's got to drop the ball to eat it, after all! Maple came into the shelter wearing a harness, so she had an owner at one point. Unfortunately, she had no identification, and no owners ever came looking. She has had some potty training and will sit on command if you have her attention and loves to learn new tricks and commands. She's done great picking up training cues in just s short time.  Maple will need to be the only pet in the home.  To apply to adopt, fill out an application at www.rescueallthedogs.org/adopt. Please note that RnR is a volunteer-based organization.
