Story
Dwight was never socialized by the original owner because she had to hide him from her landlord for 4 years because she wasn't supposed to have him then she was caught out and had to turn him into us before she got served with eviction papers. He was terrified at first because he had absolutely never been around anyone but now, though he can be a little timid at first, he has become very social, very friendly, a loving little guy at around 30 lb and likes to be around other dogs, was raised with kids so he's fine with most of them as long as they are really small. Dwight's ideal Home would be with someone who is a stay-at-home, with or without kids, with or without another dog, where he would get lots of attention, lots of love, he would be fine as an apartment dog as long as he got to go out when he needed to (he will go to the door and stare at you when he needs to go potty). He will make someone a perfect little companion but he needs a perfect Mom. (He's okay with men now, though he is used to having a Mom).He is fully vetted, neutered, on heartworm prevention and if you have other dogs, all of yours must be fully vetted and on heartworm prevention also and you must have a vet reference on your application for me to check. His adoption fee is $300 and you may apply online at Madisonarf.org

Story
I’ve realized that caring for a 7-week-old puppy is more than I expected, especially with my busy schedule and daily responsibilities. He is a sweet puppy, but he requires a lot of time, attention, supervision, training, and consistency that I’m unfortunately not able to provide right now. I want to make the responsible decision and find him a loving home that has the time and availability to give him the care and attention he deserves.

Story
Ricky is a 2 year old doodle/sheepdog mix. She is the most affectionate dog I’ve ever met, and she’s extremely receptive to training. Potty training only took 2 days with her! We’ve had her since she was a puppy, but unfortunately now with a toddler we are too overwhelmed. I would only recommend her for families with children older than 5 because she is prone to whine when children cry. She’s extremely gentle with children and adores them. She is kennel trained. I’d love for her to go to an active family, hopefully with older kids.

Story
Reno is so very sweet and has been raised around children, other dogs, is active as most puppies are but he is a mixture of herding breed with lots of energy and poodle, both being very smart so he's willing to learn. He is not an alpha dog, he's pretty submissive and knows when to back down if someone doesn't want to play with him. He walks well on a leash, will pull a bit but will stop if you tell him to and walk more calmly. He needs another dog his size (medium size or larger) to play with and a privacy fence to run and potty in.However, he's actually an old soul in a puppy body since he was raised with old dogs and doesn't really seem like he wants to play. The boarding facility says he comes out of his kennel to go potty then wants to go right back into his kennel So I guess he doesn't require another dog to play with in actuality and would probably be a fine apartment dog as long as he was taken for walks for exercise and potty. He is house and crate trained but doesn't need to be crated all day, if at all possible. He is still a puppy so he could chew if very bored. Distraction is necessary, along with toys. He's fully vetted. You must have a recent vet reference listed on the application and your dogs must be altered, up to date on all vaccines and heartworm prevention. I do contact your vet for the reference so the telephone number is necessary on the application. He is not a first time dog owner type dog. He requires a lot of grooming so a groomer is a requirement and he needs grooming now. He was born 12/25. He doesn't mind cats. He's maybe 40# right now and growing. He is not hypoallergenic. His adoption fee is $300 Apply online at MadisonARF.org
