Story
Meet Freddie our sweet one year old poodle mix. He weighs 15 pounds full grown. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. The vet sent him home with a clean bill of health and is now ready to find a home all his own. He is house trained and goes outside to do his business every couple hours when needed. Inside the home, he's pretty independent and keeps to himself unless you're calling him over for some love and attention. He's not the type to demand affection, but he absolutely soaks it up when it's offered. He is still getting the hang of walking on a leash and building confidence as his previous life as a breeder dog didn't include many outings, so everything is still a little unfamiliar to him but he's making steady progress. He enjoys spending quiet time out in the yard and will happily hang out on his own, especially if he's not quite ready to come inside. He's a bit of a hide and seek pro when he wants to be. Every day he gets a little braver, a little more curious, and a little more confident. He currently sleeps in his crate peacefully at night but I'm sure he would love his own bed next to yours if you prefer. He sleeps soundly through the night and settles in easily when you need to step out. What he needs now is someone with patients and a gentle heart, someone who understands that love and trust take time to grow. He'd thrive in a calm, nurturing home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. His adoption fee is $1500 which covers all vet costs, care and training since the time he's been with us. She's a lovely girl who adores people and would love a person (or people) of her very own. Sasha will need a home with male dogs her same size or larger than her. Capperten was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Meet and greets are by appointment only.  An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time.  When we do, it will be updated here.  This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above.  Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance.  We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect).  Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
