Story
Leo is a lovable, 7 year old, Standard Poodle, whose friendly demeanor and playful antics steal hearts wherever he goes. He weighs 45-pounds. Leo adores human attention, eagerly seeking out affection and delightfully attempting to snatch treats from unsuspecting visitors' bags, showcasing his mischievous charm. His fondness for treats hints at a promising future in training. Leo's spa days are a testament to his sweet nature, as he patiently stands for grooming, exuding grace and gentleness. Leo gets along well with female dogs and would be open to sharing a home with a canine companion, but he does not require one.A stellar leash walker, Leo eagerly embraces outdoor adventures, relishing every opportunity for a stroll. With his radiant personality and endearing charm, Leo promises to infuse any adoptive family with boundless joy and laughter. As he awaits his forever home at National Mill Dog Rescue, Leo eagerly anticipates the chance to shower his new family with love and happiness.- - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. Because some of our dogs are very under socialized, they may not be a good fit for young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Poor Fireball was surrendered to the shelter for "landlord issues". She had a litter of 5 adorable puppies a week after arriving at the shelter and is currently settling and working on her daily routine. She's very hesitant currently of anyone being near her babies but she's being a great momma and they are chunky, happy and gaining adorable puppy weight. She will need a patient adopter once her babies are weaned, one that will give her time to acclimate to a new environment and settle on her terms. We would love to find an adopter before she's ready that can come and spend time with her several times prior to completing an adoption.
