Story
Ava is an active and social dog that weighs about 43 lbs. She will be turning 2 years old this December. Ava is dog-friendly, intelligent, and is popular at the dog park and doggy daycare. Ava loves to play with every dog she meets. Therefore, she would do best in a home with another young dog to play with daily. An active family who is home during the day would be great for her. She can get the zoomies if cooped up for long periods of time. She loves pools, lakes, beaches, and hikes; she’d be a great dog for a family that likes to spend time outdoors. She also loves to play tug-of-war (she’ll probably win!) and fetch. Ava is good with kids but because of her love of zoomies and her playful energy, we recommend kids 12 or older. Ava needs a yard that is fenced. She can jump a 4’ fence easily. The times she has gotten out she stays close by and hasn’t run away; she also has good recall. We haven’t tested her with an electric fence but because she’s so intelligent, we do think she’d learn to use one easily. She is housebroken and isn’t crated when left alone; she has free reign of the house and as long as there isn’t a plate of food left out for her to swipe, she’s fine. She doesn’t particularly like crates but has tolerated them in the past. She can sometimes be hesitant around new people at first, particularly adult men, but will warm up to them quickly. She will make a fun, and loving companion, especially if you are looking for an active, playful fun-loving dog! If you’d like to meet her you can apply on our website at  https://luckychancerescue.com/adoption-applicationNovember 21, 2024, 12:15 am

Story
Hi, my name is Emmy and I will b 4 on May 25th. 2026. My mom, who adored me, became very ill and can no longer care for me. so she asked Poodle rescue to find me a good home. When I first got here, I was a little shy, but bonded with my foster mom quickly. It took me longer to bond with my human foster brother, and I would bark at him when he came up the stairs. Now I am used to him and I like him. I hate the crate so I sleep in my foster mom's room, on a soft rug. I slept all night the very first night. If you get up in the night I will too, but then I go right back to sleep. I know what "go lay down" means. The first few days or even the first week my foster mom had to go outside with me to potty but I am doing better and I will go out with my foster mom's poodles. She said I had separation anxiety, but after two weeks of being here I am much better. I need a home where their is someone home most of the time. Someone who works from home, or has just retired. I need a home where my family is patient and understanding that it takes me a couple of weeks or more to get used to my new home routine. I am doing great in my foster home after only two weeks. I grew up with high school kids and have not been around small children. I love to eat my meals and I love treats. I almost always come when called, but I definitely need a fenced yard to go potty in. I will not pee or poop on a leash. If you think you would be a good forever home for me, please ask for an application and I will send you one in your e-mail. My adoption fee is $400.00 Serious inquiries only.

Story
This handsome, affectionate boy is an unfurnished Bernedoodle which means he has the hair traits more of a Bernese than a poodle.   His birthdate is 10/18/25 so he is still growing.  He currently weighs approximately 50lbs and has curly hair but does shed.  He is housebroke and crate trained and very energetic.  He would do best in a home with another playful dog to help burn some of his energy.  Otherwise he will need a home where there is time to exercise him and he would love to have a fenced in yard.  He appears to be good with all size dogs, although he does like to play a little rough but has taken correction from the small older dog in his foster home.   We are unsure how he would be with cats.  He could use some obedience training but does appear smart and ready to learn.   If interested, please  complete the  Adoption Application  on our website at  www.NeedyPaws.org  and we will contact you.  Adopters must live within an hour’s drive of St. Louis, MO. Our $295 adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, spay/neuter and microchip. We are a 100% foster-based rescue and all of our dogs live in approved foster homes. We are dedicated to finding the best Forever Homes, and will perform home visits and conduct veterinarian and reference checks for each potential adopter. She was rescued from a commercial breeder, so the world is still a very big, very unfamiliar place to her. Dahlia is shy and easily overwhelmed, but beneath that fear is an incredibly sweet, gentle girl who wants to trust. Even when she’s scared, Dahlia has never tried to bite. She’ll let you pick her up, hold her close, and reassure her that she’s safe. With patience, kindness, and a predictable routine, she will continue to blossom. Dahlia would do best in a calm home with another friendly dog who can help her learn that life isn’t so scary after all. She’s great with other dogs, and while we’re not sure about cats, her soft temperament suggests she may adjust with slow introductions. Because she’s timid and sensitive, Dahlia would thrive in a home without young children. If you’re looking for a tender, quiet companion who just needs someone to show her what love feels like, Dahlia is ready to start her new chapter. Please help us make room to save more homeless pets!!! Adopting from Hope Rescues saves the life of two.. the one you adopt and the one your adoption makes room for. We are a Rescue which means we physically go and save lives. Hope pulls animals on their last day of life from animal control facilities that still use the inhumane gas chamber to put to death homeless pets.
