WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💎 Meet Crystal – A Delicate Gem Ready to Shine 💎 At 3 years old and 26 pounds, Crystal is a soft-hearted sweetheart who’s still learning that the world can be kind. Coming from a hoarding situation, she’s understandably shy with new people and experiences. What she needs most isn’t fancy or flashy—it’s patience, gentleness, and time to let her true sparkle emerge. Like her name, Crystal is something rare and beautiful. With a little warmth and a lot of love, she’ll transform from a fragile gem into a radiant, trusting treasure. She’s already showing her softer side (literally)—she’s discovered a deep appreciation for all things cozy: soft blankets, soft pillows, and soft beds. She’s decided that comfort is, in fact, the cat's meow...err, the dog’s bark! 🐾 Crystal does wonderfully with other dogs and would do best having a confident 4 legged sibling to help her fit in and feel comfortable. But cats? Yeah, that’s gonna be a ‘nope’ from her — she prefers friends who bark back She would also do best in a quieter home with no small kiddos, where her person was retired or works from home. Crystal doesn’t ask for much—just a safe home where she can finally rest, heal, and learn that love doesn’t have to be scary. She gives that adorable head tilt when she's pondering something. Once she trusts you, her affection shines through like sunlight through glass—steady, warm, and endlessly pure. She’ll reward your patience tenfold with quiet love, loyalty, and those gentle tail wags that mean everything. If you’re the kind of person who believes that the best treasures take time to reveal their beauty, Crystal is waiting for you. 💖 ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help this hidden gem find her forever sparkle. ✨

Story
Charlene is a very confident girl who knows what she wants! Because of her strong personality, she would not be a good choice for a first-time dog owner. She knows 'come,' walks well on a leash, and is crate trained. Charlene thrives with an active lifestyle and an experienced adopter who can keep her both physically and mentally engaged. She can be mischievous with other dogs’ leashes and collars so supervision and management are important. Because she can be quick and curious and is a flight risk, she will need a responsible home that is mindful about secure doors, leashes, and outdoor spaces.Charlene would do best with an experienced dog owner who enjoys an active lifestyle and understands confident, strong-willed dogs. A home that can provide regular exercise, structure, supervision around other dogs’ gear, and secure handling will help her thrive. With the right match, Charlene will be a fun, loyal companion ready for adventures.Charlene is one year old and weighs 24 pounds. The adoption fee for adult dogs, seven months and older, is $250. Story
Ava is an active and social dog that weighs about 43 lbs. She will be turning 2 years old this December. Ava is dog-friendly, intelligent, and is popular at the dog park and doggy daycare. Ava loves to play with every dog she meets. Therefore, she would do best in a home with another young dog to play with daily. An active family who is home during the day would be great for her. She can get the zoomies if cooped up for long periods of time. She loves pools, lakes, beaches, and hikes; she’d be a great dog for a family that likes to spend time outdoors. She also loves to play tug-of-war (she’ll probably win!) and fetch. Ava is good with kids but because of her love of zoomies and her playful energy, we recommend kids 12 or older. Ava needs a yard that is fenced. She can jump a 4’ fence easily. The times she has gotten out she stays close by and hasn’t run away; she also has good recall. We haven’t tested her with an electric fence but because she’s so intelligent, we do think she’d learn to use one easily. She is housebroken and isn’t crated when left alone; she has free reign of the house and as long as there isn’t a plate of food left out for her to swipe, she’s fine. She doesn’t particularly like crates but has tolerated them in the past. She can sometimes be hesitant around new people at first, particularly adult men, but will warm up to them quickly. She will make a fun, and loving companion, especially if you are looking for an active, playful fun-loving dog! If you’d like to meet her you can apply on our website at  https://luckychancerescue.com/adoption-applicationNovember 21, 2024, 12:15 am

Toy Poodle 8mo/ 4 Pounds Spayed /Microchipped UTD on vaccinations INSTRUCTIONS for ADOPTION: ***Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. ***If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send a completed application to gateway4paws@gmail.com. ***Applications & FAQ regarding adoption can be found on our website. ***Only completed applications that meet requirements will be reviewed. ***Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be contacted or scheduled to meet our dogs ***We do not allow shipping & do not transport. ***You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & be able to drive to the foster for a meet & greet. REQUIREMENTS for a puppy with a disability: ***Canine friend of similar size & temperament (under 20lbs) ***Humans with her anytime she is not in a restricted area ***No small children or anyone who is a fall risk ***Xpen for her outside activity and/or to reduce the size of a large yard ***The ability to set up an area of the home for Ayla to have as her own Fortunately for Ayla, her breeder knew rescue was an option when it was discovered that she was born with no eyes. If that shocks you, please know that Ayla doesn't know anything different. Never having eyes, she has no clue that sight was an option she didn't get. Ayla is a very spoiled puppy as she should be. She will always need to be cared for like a puppy. Her movements are calculated but jubilant. She is a very happy puppy! She is just as sweet as can be; everyone is her friend. We like to remind applicants that a new puppy is a lot like a toddler. Ayla will need to be supervised, and the best way to do that is to have a dedicated space set up for her. This area will be a part of the home where she can hear activity around her, but it is a place that is puppy proofed. Where she can play, lounge, or nap when her family is not directly engaging. Playpens, 4-squares, or x-pens are excellent tools to make this possible. They are easily mobile if you want to move them around, too. If you have interior stairs, please have a plan to keep her off the stairs. We will not consider homes with small/disrespectful children, anyone using a walker/cane/wheelchair, or any dog bigger than 20 pounds in the home. These are all hazards for Ayla. Ayla is still working on potty training. Being blind doesn't stop her from being trained. She is reliably potty trained to pads in her designated space. She is familiar with the routine at her foster home. Potty accidents in the home are eliminated because a process has been set up & Ayla has learned it. She is very smart & catches on quickly. Remember, in a new home, a new environment means that new habits will have to be established. Please give her time to get used to a schedule & set her up for success! Just like any other puppy. Ayla does not need a fenced yard but she does need a safe place to do her business outside. Setting up temporary fencing or a secure xpen is a good idea. If you do have a fenced yard, your fence must be very VERY secure as a 4lb puppy can fit through small spaces. Again, we'd like to see you have a couple of xpens set up to reduce the physical area she has access to. No puppy should ever be left in a yard without supervision, NEVER EVER, especially a blind one. Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility. It requires lots of patience & time! But it is very rewarding if everyone is invested. Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt a wonderful new friend. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first.

Mini Poodle 4yo- DOB 02/17/21 9lbs Spayed/Microchipped UTD on vaccinations Current on flea & heartworm prevention INSTRUCTIONS for ADOPTION: ***Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. Jingle came into our program as a breeder release, a young adult with a long life ahead of her. When Jingle arrived in her foster home, she was quite reserved. She was confused, she wasn't sure if this was a good thing or not. She was very timid & scared. Boy, has she really changed, she has flourished & bloomed! Once so scared, she willingly goes to her foster mom & seeks companionship & cuddles from her. She will do best in a calm, low activity home. A home that is willing to patiently allow her to adjust & get used to her forever environment. Going into a new home will be another change for Jingle, but she is very brave & we know that she will successfully make the transition if given a chance. She will do best learning from other 4-legged siblings, we would like to see her find a home with some friends of similar size & energy level. She follows her foster siblings around, she likes to play with them very gently, no rough housing. In her foster home, she has proven to be 100% house trained. We are so proud of her. With that said, her new family must understand she could have a few accidents until she gets her new routine down. Please be prepared to give her ample opportunity for success, praise her when she does it right, & be patient with her. We have given Jingle space to decompress & get used to being a pet. We have not pushed the issue of leash training. We do not know if that is something she would enjoy in the future or not. Therefore, for her safety (& for her to be able to do her potty business immediately upon adoption), a secure physical fence yard is required. An aluminum or slat type of fencing will need a gap filler around the bottom half so she can't get through, something like galvanized wire mesh or another sturdy material. She isn't an outdoor adventure dog; she doesn't need a big yard. But she does need a very secure area to do her potty business. Never EVER should she be left in the yard alone. Jingle is the type of dog that becomes your BFF. Your movie-watching, couch lounging, hanging out, reliable friend. We look forward to matching Jingle with her forever family soon!
