You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Ellie came to us from the city pound on 8/2/2026. We did learn a little bit about her from her former owner, who no longer care for her. Ellie is her real name and she's around a year and a few months old. She is a standard poodle mix and was described by her former owner as a labradoodle, but we aren't sure if that is entirely accurate. She looks to maybe be mixed with border collie or Australian shepherd. She has been vet checked, spayed, and microchipped, and the vet staff also shaved her down before her surgery because she arrived with a very matted coat. Her fee is $150. Ellie will need definitely need basic training in all areas, but she's still an exuberant and friendly girl. She's young, very active, and incredibly bouncy, so she will require plenty of exercise. It would be helpful if her new home has experience with dogs similar to her because of their high grooming needs. A potential adopter should be prepared for the extra work and expense of this. Ellie should do well with other dogs that match her in size and energy level. Her enthusiasm might be too much for cats. She would do better with kids over 8 because she is so energetic and needs training. She is an incredibly loving girl who has a lot of potential! NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. ## Meet Turner ❤️ Turner is a very special red Standard Poodle puppy who is looking for a very special forever family. At just 8 weeks old, Turner was surrendered by a breeder because they felt he was “off in the head.” After three weeks of fostering him, we can tell you this: Turner may be a little different, but he is absolutely amazing. ❤️ Turner is blind and deaf and has some neurological challenges, including **Vestibular and Cerebellar Dysfunction**. He loves to go in circles, can be a little slow to process things, and sometimes gets frustrated. But none of that has stopped this sweet boy from being a happy, loving puppy who enjoys life to the fullest. He **LOVES treats and chew toys** and we’re pretty sure he has an incredible sense of smell—he definitely knows when treats are nearby! 😄 He has become familiar with his foster family’s backyard and is learning more about his world every day. He is comfortable in his kennel, sleeps through the night, and is working hard on potty training. He has even started making the cutest little barks when he’s hanging out in his x-pen. 🥹 Like any puppy, Turner has razor-sharp puppy teeth and will sometimes nip or bite, especially when he becomes frustrated. We redirect him with rope toys, chew toys, and treats, and he continues to learn. Turner is not looking for a perfect family—he’s looking for a **patient, loving family who will see the wonderful puppy underneath his challenges**. He will need someone willing to give him time, understanding, consistency, and lots and lots of love. His world may be different from other puppies, but he has so much love to give in return. ❤️ **Due to not being able to see and hear, it will be a requirement that Turner has another dog in the home to guide him. Please also look into how to train a dog who can't see or hear. **Turner’s adoption fee is $450 plus tax.** Apply to adopt at www.campcompanion.org
