Rhyli came to BENCHS from another shelter with his brother, Bayli, and he is ready to find a family to call his own. At just over a year old, he is all teenager, full of curiosity, energy, and personality. He loves to romp around, explore, and is always looking for his next adventure. Rhyli is a smart boy who is just beginning to learn the ropes. He has recently started clicker training and is enjoying the challenge of learning new skills. Like many young dogs, he is still working on his manners and learning appropriate boundaries. Because of his enthusiasm and strength, he would do best with a confident, consistent handler who can continue building on his training in a positive way. We are unsure what breed Rhyli is, but he has a medium length coat that does shed. He would likely be a little more allergy friendly than a typical heavy shedding breed. He enjoys playing with toys, chewing on bones, and would thrive in an active home that can provide plenty of exercise and mental enrichment. Since we are unsure whether Rhyli has ever lived in a home before, he may need patience as he learns potty training and household routines. He previously lived with his brother and enjoyed having a canine companion, so we believe he could do well with another dog following a slow and thoughtful introduction. Because Rhyli is still learning boundaries and can be a bit exuberant, he would do best in a home without very small children or elderly family members. With continued training, structure, and lots of love, this goofy young dog has all the potential to grow into an incredible lifelong companion. I was found as a stray, and when no one came to claim me, I made my way to Animal Ark to start fresh. I’m a sweetheart through and through. I am sensitive, smart, and eager to bond with someone who understands me. I do best in a calm home with adults or older teens (16+), where I can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the loyal companion I’m ready to be. I do need a home with a fenced-in backyard. I may have had a mysterious beginning, but I’m hoping my next chapter is full of comfort, kindness, and a family who sees just how great I am.

Meet Turner ❤️🐾 Turner is a very special young Standard Poodle who came to us from a breeder at just 8 weeks old. Turner is blind and has very limited hearing, so he experiences the world a little differently than most puppies—but he is a sweet, happy boy who is learning more every day. Turner is continuing to work on potty training and is making progress as he learns his routine. He is also learning to walk on a leash and has been practicing navigating steps. He can confidently go up four steps, and going back down is a little trickier, but he’s figuring it out! 🥰 One of Turner’s biggest superpowers is that he is **VERY treat motivated!** 😄 This has been incredibly helpful with training and teaching him new things. He is also learning to become more comfortable and confident in his surroundings as he builds trust. Turner may need a little extra patience and understanding, but he is an incredibly special puppy with so much potential. His new family will need to be willing to let him learn at his own pace, use positive reinforcement, and help him navigate a world he cannot fully see or hear. Because Turner relies on other dogs to help him understand his surroundings, **another confident, friendly dog in the home will be required** to help guide him. Yeti is a Standard Poodle mix who came to PCHS from a rescue partner, and he is just the coolest guy. He is about 2 years old and has legs that seem to go on forever! Yeti really loves being around people and would be happiest with someone who is around a lot and wants a buddy to take along on adventures. He does well with other dogs and is a fun, easygoing guy. Yeti will need regular grooming to keep him looking his best, but we think he is pretty darn handsome already. He's as sweet as they come and absolutely loves being with his people. Doug has lived successfully in a home with children and has a friendly, affectionate personality that wins everyone over. Doug is a total goofball who loves to entertain himself and everyone around him. He'll happily pounce on his toys, toss them into the air, and proudly bring them to you in hopes you'll play a game of fetch. His playful spirit is contagious, and he's always ready for the next adventure. Doug absolutely loves other dogs and would enjoy having a canine sibling to play with. However, because he's still building on the training and structure he's learned, he will need a home that can provide clear boundaries and consistency. While he'd be happy with the right dog companion, Doug may ultimately do best as an only dog where his new family can focus on continuing his training and helping him succeed. Because Doug has a high prey drive, he'll need a home without small pets. Squirrels are simply too tempting for him, so he'll need a family that's prepared to manage his instincts on walks and outdoor adventures. Doug recently completed a four-week board-and-train program with our training partner, Northstar Family K9 Training, where he made wonderful progress building confidence, improving his leash skills, and learning the foundations for success. His future family will need to continue reinforcing everything he's learned through consistent training, structure, and positive reinforcement. Ongoing leash work, continued crate training, and practicing his obedience skills will be important as Doug settles into his forever home. Doug is a very busy young dog who thrives when he has a job to do. He needs an active family that is dedicated to both training and daily exercise. Right now, his ideal day includes a trip to the dog park—Minnehaha is his favorite!—plus a 3-mile walk. Regular physical activity and mental enrichment are essential to keeping this smart, energetic boy happy and well-balanced. Doug is fully potty trained and has excellent house manners. Because he enjoys companionship and can become anxious when left alone, he'd love a family where someone works from home or has a hybrid schedule. That routine will help set him up for success as he continues adjusting to life in his forever home. I'm a growing puppy and I'm still learning! While I've made great progress, I'll need a family committed to continuing my training so I can keep building confidence and making good choices. My ideal forever home will be with people who are home most of the day and won't leave me alone for longer than 3–4 hours at a time while I continue building confidence in my crate and settling into my new routine. I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Ozzy is a sweet and loving 3.5 year old Saint Berdoodle. He had an unexpected addition to his family and with the new infant his owners do not have the time he deserves. He's a lover, especially to kids and mom, but defends the home and will bark at new people. In public, he does not bark at others. He has never been aggressive.He takes Prozac which helps separation anxiety, but likely would not need it if owners do not work long hours away from home.He joined us at 4 months of age and to our knowledge he has never been abused, but prefers females and children.He is anxious at the groomers, especially with his paws, but does well with a patient groomer. He was crate trained when he was young, but was extremely stressed by the crate and does much better with free reign of the house. He is great with kids, but is big (84lbs) and would do best with kids that are age 5 or older.
