Maddie is just under a year old and currently 40 pounds. She is great with other dogs of all sizes, but may be too much for a small child. She is full of energy, and learning basic commands very quickly. She is incredibly smart, but at this age is still working on impulse control and attention span, especially if she has not had enough exercise. If you are looking for an active and bright companion, she may just be the perfect fit for you! 100% of our animals are in foster homes, this gives us the ability to get to know our pets really well, which helps us match our adopters with their perfect companion! Pet Location: Wayside’s Canine Behavior Center – I`d love to show off all the cool things I’ve learned at Wayside! Please arrive at the shelter before 4pm on our open adoption days to meet me! My Friends at Wayside say: - I am enrolled in LIFT University. This is a program for dogs to build confidence in new situations and work on managing energy. My adoption comes with a free 30-minute private training session. - I`ve been described as a goofy and affectionate boy!- I love cuddles and pets from people once I`m comfortable. - I’m smart and food/treat motivated.- I am eligible for a Slumber Pawty, a 7-10 day in-home trial period. Please visit our website for additional information. My home needs are: - I need a home without other dogs - I prefer having your attention all to myself! - I need a home with kids 6 years old and older since I tend to be nervous around new people and loud noises. - If you have kids in the home between 6-9 years old, I will need to meet them since I can be nervous around new people and loud noises. - Wayside recommends no apartments or shared living spaces for me, please! - For my safety, I need to go home on an anti-slip collar called a martingale collar. For your convenience, we sell them in our retail store, Whiskers and Wags.
