I can be met by appointment at my foster home in Stormville, NY. You will also see me at any of the Tractor Supply events because I don't like to miss out on any fun. If you would like to foster me to adopt just send an email. 🐾 Meet Astro: The Smart, Sweet, and Playful Best Friend! Lab/Poodle Mix | 7 Months Old | House-Trained & Crate-Trained Astro is a vibrant, 7-month-old soul who is the perfect blend of athletic and affectionate. Though he has had a big transition recently, he is proving to be an incredibly smart boy who is eager to please and even more eager to love. 🌟 Why You’ll Love Him Astro is an active, playful pup who is already well-ahead of the curve with his training! House-Trained Pro: Astro is an excellent communicator. When he needs to go out, he’ll head to the door and go right to his leash to let you know. He even knows the command "Go Potty" to help him stay focused on the task at hand. Crate Trained: He transitions easily to his crate with a simple "Crate" command and a small treat. Impressive Recall: Astro has a special safety skill! When you say "Safety," he will come straight to you and sit right between your legs. Playtime Enthusiast: He is the king of tug-of-war and loves a good "sniffing" challenge with treat mats. If you’re a runner or a hiker, Astro is your guy—he loves to be active, though he’s still learning to stay focused on his leash when there are interesting things to see! 🍖 Life with Astro Astro is a healthy boy currently growing big and strong on Blue Buffalo Chicken Puppy Food. He follows a reliable routine: he loves his morning walk/potty break around 8:00 AM and his evening routine around 6:00 PM. He’s been neutered and is ready to jump into his next adventure. ❤️ A Note from His Heart Astro’s previous home loved him dearly and invested so much time into making him the well-behaved boy he is today. They want nothing more than a family who can match his energy and give him the active lifestyle a young Lab/Poodle mix dreams of. Is your home the "forever" spot Astro has been looking for? 📩 How to Adopt: Email info@pawsafe.org to request an application or to learn more about the honor of being Astro’s new family. How to meet dogs listed with "NY" : If the dog is listed with an 'Avail date" and a (location) - the dog cannot be met until the event and it is a first come, first served adoption event with the dogs being met in the order the potential adopters sign in. Story
We pulled Colby along with his brother and sister from a high kill shelter in GA when they were 10 weeks old. Their mom is a pure bred Black standard Poodle that was allowed to run and she came home pregnant. All three pup look a bit different, so we are sure there were different dads. Colby looks like he has Brittany spaniel in him but that is only a guess He has long wavy hair a scruffy face and seems to be very low shedding. Colby's brother and sister have now gone to their new homes, and he is anxiously waiting for his family! We think that Colby will be close to 60 lbs when grown. He loves people although a bit shy at first and he loves other dogs. He is one happy boy all the time. We're all just crazy about his cuteness! He is now 8 months old and UTD on shots and has been neutered and microchipped Colby is happy, playful and affectionate. He would be a great addition to any family. If you would like to be his forever hero, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check you spam folder.

Story
Mistletoe is a little sweetheart and she has tons of personality! Her mom is a small B&W rat terrier mix and dad is a doodle. Mom was taken in as a stray by a lady with an unaltered doodle. Before she could find a rescue to help with mom, she became pregnant. Mistletoe, th runt in the litter, is friendly, loving and smart! She is great with other dogs and people of all ages. She has not been around a cat yet but we are confident she will be fine with proper intro. Being the runt, she always seems to end up on the bottom and she still plays hard and never gets mad! Mistletoe is healthy, UTD on puppy shots and worming. She will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Based on puppy weight calculators we think she will be between 25 and 35 lbs. If you would like to add this sweetheart to your family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Story
Hi, I’m Jazz — a 6-month-old Standard Poodle puppy weighing about 48 pounds, and I’ve got a whole lot of personality to match my size. I’m confident, fun, and friendly, and I jump into life with both paws first. If you’re nearby, I’m probably trying to climb onto you — not because I have no manners, but because I’m so excited to be close to people. I’m good with other dogs and love having playmates. I’m still learning my boundaries, so I can be a bit jumpy, but it all comes from enthusiasm and a happy, social nature. Training will be important for me, and the good news is that I’m smart, eager, and ready to learn. I’m looking for an active, patient home that’s excited about raising a big, joyful puppy into an amazing adult dog. If you want a confident, affectionate, playful companion who will make you laugh every single day, I think we’d make some pretty great music together!  Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
I’m Motown — a 48 pound 6-month-old Standard Poodle puppy with striking black-and-white markings and a heart that’s still learning how brave it can be. I can be a little nervous at first, especially in new situations, but I’m also friendly and curious. I love being around other dogs. Having another dog nearby really helps me build confidence. I look to them for cues, comfort, and encouragement, and I do best when I have a canine friend to show me the ropes. I’m playful and tolerant with other dogs, happy to follow their lead, and eager to learn how to be the best version of myself. I’m still growing, still learning, and still figuring out the world — but I’m doing my best every day. I’d thrive in a home with another dog who can help me feel secure and loved while I continue to gain confidence. If you’re looking for a beautiful, gentle pup who just needs a little reassurance to shine, I’m ready to grow with you!  Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org).
