Story
Meet Manilow. He is a big boy at about 80 pounds and the vet estimates that he is about 1 year old. We think that he is an Irish Wolfadoodle and he is as sweet and gentle as can be. Does well with other dogs and loves to be near his person. He sits for pets and scratches and enjoys squeaky toys.  Manilow requires regular grooming to keep his gentlemanly look; and does very well there, from bathing to nails to ears and everything in between. He is simply a delight.  All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Meet Chewbacca ("Chewy")! With his shaggy coat, soulful eyes, and unmistakable teddy bear appearance, it's easy to see how this handsome doodle earned the name Chewbacca—Chewy for short!Chewy is believed to be around 7 years old and appears to be a standard-sized Goldendoodle-type mix weighing about 55 pounds. While his past is a bit of a mystery, one thing is clear: this sweet boy is ready to leave his wandering days behind him and find a place to call home.  When Chewy first arrived in rescue, he was understandably overwhelmed. After spending time fending for himself, he seemed almost amazed to discover soft dog beds, regular meals, and people looking out for him. Before long, he settled in and began showing everyone what a special dog he is.Chewy enjoys spending time with people and has done well settling into the routine of rescue life. He has been clean in his kennel, enjoys attention from his favorite humans, and seems to appreciate the comfort and security that come with having his needs met.Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Chewy may benefit from a patient family willing to give him time to settle into new surroundings and build trust at his own pace. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion who is ready to enjoy the next chapter of his life.And let's be honest—once he gets a good grooming, this fluffy guy is going to turn plenty of heads! Zara is a very sweet family dog. She is well-tempered and lives for togetherness. Zara plays well with other dogs and is very friendly toward strangers. Zara’s previous owners could not keep her because they often traveled and she has separation anxiety. Recently a vet suggested that Zara needs a home where the owner is either retired or working from home and can devote special attention to her desensitization training. Zara gets very anxious when left alone and will often defecate on the floor. She also has not had crate training and damaged her teeth when put in a wire cage. Aside from her anxiety she is a precious dog who equally loves playing and napping. She could be a fantastic pet to the right owners.
