Story
I met Duke through a friend of a friend on May 30 this year. He’s my first dog by myself so I figured I be his new home. It’s become difficult for me to care and spend time with him. Duke is 10 months old, his birthday is October 23, 2025. I was planning to have a birthday party for him 😔 but I’m too busy to even have time to play with him (I work night shift as well). Duke deserves a home with many family members and animals that he can interact with daily. This home should also continue his training (as I have) to sharpen his manners and social skills with strangers in public. Duke has so much energy and love to share, and he’s also a very curious and protective animal! He is a fast learner and enjoys new adventures! It breaks my heart to rehome him because I love spending time with him, but like I said he deserves more than what I can give him.Everything I have gotten for Duke (including his spot at daycare and vet clinic) will be yours!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Shelton!  Shelton was found wandering the Pearl, looking for someone to help him. It was immediately obvious that this sweet boy had been on the streets for quite some time. His coat was severely matted, and he was clearly uncomfortable. Thankfully, Shelton is now feeling so much better after a much-needed trip to our groomers.  Shelton completed his stray hold, but unfortunately, no one ever came forward to claim him. So now, we’re looking for the family who will give him the life he should have had all along. Shelton is a Poodle/Golden Retriever mix, and he is exactly the kind of dog you would expect from that combination. He is energetic, playful, smart, and ready to be part of an active family. His future adopters need to understand that the breed like Shelton require plenty of exercise, attention, mental stimulation, and companionship. They also come with a significant grooming commitment. His coat will need frequent brushing and regular professional grooming to prevent the painful matting he experienced before. Shelton is neutered, microchipped, 4DX negative, current on vaccines, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. His adoption fee is $500. If you’re ready for an energetic, playful, loving companion and understand the grooming and exercise needs that come with a Poodle/Golden Retriever mix, Shelton would love the chance to meet you. Please apply to adopt Shelton at www.adoggie4you.org. We are located in Texas, and transport is available for an additional $250 to Washington, Portland (OR), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (KY), and along the East Coast. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 9, 2026, 1:00 pm

Story
Dolly is a 4-month-old Labradoodle mix who is looking for a patient, understanding forever home. Dolly has experienced several changes over the past few weeks and needed additional time to decompress before she was ready to show us her true personality. She is now beginning to come out of her shell and is showing us what a sweet, affectionate puppy she is. When Dolly feels comfortable, she is incredibly loving and will happily give kisses and snuggle with her person. She is beginning to explore her surroundings, show interest in toys, and follow her people around the home. She is still unsure about new situations and may peek around a corner or hang back while she takes everything in. What Dolly Needs Dolly will do best with an adopter who understands that she will need time, patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement as she adjusts to her new home. Her ideal family will be willing to: Give her time to decompress and establish a predictable routine. Help her build confidence in new situations. Continue working on potty training. Continue introducing her to crate training in a positive, low-pressure way. Consider working with a qualified, positive-reinforcement trainer to help with confidence and socialization. Respect her boundaries and allow her to approach new experiences at her own pace. Dolly is making progress with potty training and is beginning to give cues when she needs to go. However, she is still a young puppy and may have occasional excitement- or fear-related accidents. Her current preference is to sleep in a puppy exercise pen, and she is being gradually introduced to a larger crate. Her adopter will need to continue making the crate a safe and positive place for her as she is not crate trained. Home Environment Dolly would be best suited for a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children . She can be very affectionate and loves to stay close to her people, but she has a habit of suddenly moving between feet or leaning into her person without warning. Because of this, a home with young children may not be the safest environment due to the risk of someone being knocked over. Dolly has shown interest in other dogs, but she has not yet had a full introduction to the resident dogs in her foster home. She has seen them through the puppy gates and wags her tail. At the shelter they said she had no issues with dogs.  Dolly’s Forever Family Dolly is looking for someone who will see her potential and understand that confidence doesn't happen overnight. She doesn't need someone to rush her—she needs someone willing to walk beside her while she learns that the world is a safe place. In return, Dolly is already showing us just how loving she can be. Once she trusts you, expect plenty of kisses, cuddles, and a little shadow following you around the house.  Dolly has made wonderful progress, and we know her best days are still ahead of her. She deserves a forever family who will continue helping her grow into the confident, happy dog she is meant to be. If you think Dolly may be the right match for your family, please complete an adoption application and be prepared to give this sweet girl the time and patience she needs to thrive.       September 9, 2026, 5:09 pm

Story
Meet Oliver ❤️Oliver was given to us by a family member who is a breeder in California. He is a loving, affectionate boy who absolutely loves attention, cuddles, and being close to his people. He knows basic commands like sit, out, and shake. He currently lives with another dog and they get along well.Oliver is a sensitive and anxious dog. He can be reactive toward other dogs while on leash and is very sensitive to loud or unfamiliar noises, especially thunderstorms and fireworks. He does best with a calm, patient person who understands anxious/reactive dogs.He has done well with our 6-month-old baby with supervision, but he is uncomfortable around unfamiliar children and people entering the home and needs to be separated when necessary.Oliver has so much love to give and would thrive in a calm home with someone patient, experienced, and willing to continue working with him. Our goal is finding the right home where he can feel safe, loved, and understood. ❤️
