Story
CAULIFLOWER
BREED: Terrier cross (best guess: Jack-a Poo)
AGE: 13 weeks old
WEIGHT: 15 lbs.
LIKES: Playing and wrestling with any dog that will let her. Cozy dog beds. Toys, socks, pajamas, books, sticks, paper, etc. Food.
DISLIKES: Cats. People she doesn't know.
PERSONALITY TRAITS: Cauliflower is a high energy, very smart, girl who is anxious about new people and situations. She requires a lot of time to feel comfortable (more than average) in a new environment. She is smart and will evade attempts to grab or corner her. So take it slow, while working to earn her trust. It’ll be worth it.
POTTY TRAINING STATUS: Cauliflower seems to be mostly potty trained in her foster home.
CRATE TRAINING STATUS: Cauliflower sleeps in a crate each night, with other dogs in her foster home, and she has been known to hide under the couch, so she prefers places she can feel safe.
GROOMING: Cauliflower has soft Poodle-like hair, which may require regular grooming to ensure she doesn't get matted.
MISC. INFO: If you have a young, very active, small to medium sized dog (15-50 lbs.) who would like a friend to wrestle, chase, and hang with, Cauliflower would love that. She will wear them out and then happily sleep in a dog bed with some treasured toys or bones. Cauliflower took over a week to allow her foster mom to touch and handle her, and still gets nervous when other people enter the room, however, she will now happily climb on her foster mom's lap or lay beside her on the couch, or in the dog bed on the floor. Due to the patience her foster mom showed during her first week in her care, she went from spending most of that time under the couch to trusting just a little more with each passing day.
Cauliflower is in her element when playing in the yard with a dog friend, and she adores her "big" foster sister dog and snuggles with her without hesitation. Cauliflower's timid yet active nature makes her best suited for a home without small children, cats, chickens, or other small pets. Over time, and with consistent patience and training, Cauliflower will blossom into a lovely companion.
