We have a transport leaving between the 1st and 3rd of November 2026 from where we are located in Southern California to NorCal, OR, and surrounding states as needed for our adopting families where we bring our dogs all the way to their homes 💗 For peace of mind we never ask for anything up front. They don’t have to do anything extraordinary. Their presence, their enthusiasm for life, and the way they love so freely are enough to remind us just how beautiful the little moments can be. Jovie is one of those dogs, and we couldn’t have chosen a more fitting name for this incredible girl! Her name, Jovie, is a modern name associated with joy, happiness, and a cheerful spirit, inspired by the word jovial. And if ever there were a girl who embodied the meaning of her name, it would be her! She is happiness on four paws, with a heart as beautiful as her appearance and a personality that makes it nearly impossible not to fall in love with her. 🩷 Jovie is a gorgeous 10-month-old Portuguese Water Dog and Poodle mix, born on Christmas Day! Yes, our beautiful girl is a Christmas baby, which makes her story feel even more special because she truly is a gift in every sense of the word. From her beautiful black-and-white curls and those wonderfully expressive eyes to her outgoing, affectionate, and playful personality, there is something so incredibly special about this girl. Jovie came into our care through no fault of her own. Her previous owner loved her dearly, but his work and personal responsibilities required him to travel out of town frequently. Without a consistent support system at home to help care for her, he found himself relying on different dog sitters, and despite his efforts, he wasn’t able to establish the consistency he wanted for his beautiful girl. He recognized that Jovie deserved more than a revolving door of caregivers and an unpredictable routine. She deserved stability, companionship, and someone who could share everyday life with her. As difficult as it was, he made the loving decision to ask us to take her into our care and help find her a home as incredible as she is. And what an absolute blessing it has been getting to know her! Jovie is the kind of girl who genuinely LOVES people. She is incredibly friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and social. She doesn’t seem to believe in strangers, only friends she hasn’t had the pleasure of meeting yet! She has a beautiful enthusiasm for life and an equally beautiful ability to make the people around her feel loved and appreciated. One of my absolute favorite things about Jovie is how much she loves being talked to. And I don’t mean simply hearing your voice in the background. I mean actually sitting there, looking at you, and appearing to listen to every single word you say! 😂🩷 She will tilt her head to the right, then to the left, watching you with such curiosity and attentiveness that you almost find yourself wondering just how much of the conversation she understands! There is something so endearing about the way she studies your face and responds to your voice. I genuinely believe she enjoys being included in the conversation because it makes her feel special, and I can promise you that if you’re someone who loves having a little companion to talk to throughout the day, Jovie will happily volunteer to become your most trusted confidant. Tell her about your day, your plans, your worries, or what you’re making for dinner. She will be right there, listening with those adorable head tilts and making you feel as though every word matters. And the best part? Your secrets will always be safe with her! 🩷 She is also an incredibly fun girl who knows how to enjoy life! Jovie absolutely LOVES playing fetch, and she has learned to bring the ball right back to you every single time! She doesn’t just enjoy the chase; she loves the entire experience of playing together. Watching her excitement as she waits for that next throw is enough to make you want to keep playing long after you originally intended to stop. And if you happen to enjoy soccer, well, you may have just found yourself the most enthusiastic teammate imaginable! 😂 Jovie LOVES playing soccer! Kick a ball around the yard, and she is ready to join in, happily chasing it and turning an ordinary afternoon into something memorable. She has such a playful, spirited personality, and her excitement is wonderfully contagious. Whether you’re tossing a ball, kicking one across the grass, or simply enjoying some time outdoors, she is always ready to participate. What makes her even more wonderful is that her playful personality is beautifully balanced by her affectionate nature. She loves companionship and genuinely enjoys being near the people she loves. She is not a girl who needs constant entertainment to be happy. She simply wants to be included, whether that means playing outside, relaxing together, or keeping you company as you go about your day. Jovie is fully house-trained and has a wonderful understanding of her potty routine. She goes outside when asked and has done beautifully maintaining those habits in our care. As with any dog transitioning into a new home, we always encourage consistency while she learns her new family’s schedule, but she already has a wonderful foundation. She is also crate-trained and has no issues settling into her crate at bedtime or when you need to step out of the house. She understands the routine and does very well with it. That being said, she is equally comfortable resting on a dog bed and enjoying her own little space nearby. She is adaptable, easy to work with, and has a wonderful understanding of everyday household expectations. Jovie is leash-trained and does very well on walks! She may occasionally pull ever so slightly, but I honestly think it’s because she is so excited to experience everything the world has to offer. Every new smell, every interesting sound, and every little discovery seems worthy of her attention. There is something rather beautiful about watching a dog appreciate the world that way. Sometimes we get so caught up in where we’re going that we forget to enjoy everything along the way, and Jovie has a sweet way of reminding us to slow down and smell the roses right alongside her. 🩷 She is also an absolutely wonderful traveling companion! Whether you’re heading out for a quick drive around town or embarking on a road trip that takes you hours from home, Jovie is ready to come along. She travels beautifully in the car and genuinely seems to enjoy the experience. She doesn’t need to know the destination or have the itinerary planned out. As far as she is concerned, if she gets to be with her favorite person, the adventure has already begun. And I think that’s one of the most beautiful things about her. She isn’t concerned with where life takes her nearly as much as who she gets to share it with. Jovie is wonderful with other animals, including cats! She has a very friendly, social disposition and enjoys the company of other dogs. She is always happy to make a new friend, and if that friend happens to enjoy playing ball, well, that’s even better! 😂 She would absolutely love a canine companion who shares her enthusiasm for play, but she would also be perfectly happy being someone’s cherished girl with plenty of companionship, attention, and opportunities to enjoy her favorite activities. She is equally wonderful with men, women, and children. Her affectionate, welcoming personality is one of the many reasons we adore her. She has such a beautiful way of opening her heart to others, and the happiness she brings into everyday interactions is something that really must be experienced to be fully appreciated. And while she certainly has plenty of personality, Jovie is not an excessive barker. She may occasionally alert you when something catches her attention, but barking is not something she makes a habit of. In fact, I should probably warn you that if you’re hoping for a serious watchdog, Jovie might not be your girl. She may very well decide the mailman or gardener is simply another wonderful person who has stopped by to receive a few kisses! 😂🩷 So while she may not be particularly intimidating when it comes to guarding your home, she will certainly do her part to make everyone feel welcome! At just 10 months old, Jovie has so much life ahead of her, and I can only imagine the beautiful memories she will make with the family fortunate enough to call her their own. She has a wonderful foundation, an incredibly loving disposition, and a genuine excitement for life that makes even ordinary days feel special. She deserves a home where she will be included, celebrated, and loved for the beautiful soul she is. A family who appreciates her playful spirit, enjoys her companionship, and has the time to make her a meaningful part of their everyday lives. Whether that home belongs to an active family who loves outdoor adventures, someone looking for a cheerful walking companion, or a person who simply wants a devoted best friend to share life’s little moments with, Jovie has so much love to offer. We have also had a fecal sample submitted to the laboratory to screen for internal parasites as part of her veterinary care. Jovie has not yet been spayed, as our veterinarian has recommended waiting until she is at least 12 months old before proceeding with her surgery. Since she is currently only 10 months old, she will be adopted with a spay agreement so her future family can complete that important part of her care when she reaches the recommended age. This young pup is full of energy and enjoys chasing and retrieving balls, making him a great companion for an active home. As a puppy, Charlie is still learning the ropes and will benefit from continued training and guidance. The good news is that he is eager to learn, responds well to positive reinforcement, and is considered easy to train. Charlie would do best in a home without young children, as he is not comfortable around kids. He thrives with patient adopters who can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for play and enrichment. He is a silly character who really shines with the people he is most comfortable with. Here at POOCH he joins in for playgroups, and can share space politely with dogs of varying sizes. While he has an unknown past, we know he'll be amazing in your present and future. Originally a stray in Marion County, Austin has learned how to be a dog here at POOCH. He has grown in leaps in bounds. He had a rough bout of Giardia that caused some additional complications, but we are happy to report that he has gained weight and doing much better! Additionally, he has discovered that he loves to play with other dogs. We have also given him a few haircuts since his arrival, so pardon any pictures that remind you of the kid whose mom cuts his hair (We do our best, but we are far from professionals!) While at POOCH, we have had the opportunity to allow Austin to make lots of dog friends. He loves to play chase and is a fast fellow! However, he is very respectful of fellow POOCH Jasmine, who isn't as into his type of fun and games all the time. He can play with a variety of dogs, from pushy huskies to tiny tyrants, Austin is pretty good about making play work. He would really make an EXCELLENT second dog in a home, as he tends to take cues from the other dogs really well. Some things Austin loves: - Crinkly toys - Almost all toys, but the ones that make a little bit of noise easily are a lot of fun! - The pool - He loves to lounge in the water and splash with his friends. - Booty Scritches - He will arch up like a cat. (He is actually rather cat-like) - When you put your hand out and he can lean his face in while getting scritches. This bouncy noodle boy is one of our trainer's favorites because of his bubbly personality, and goofy character. At the end of the night he gets to roam in and out of the classroom with some dog friends and he will run in to choose a toy, before running out to play with it outside. Rinse and Repeat until we have to go gather all the toys and get everyone settled into bed. OK, we know he's perfect. The downside: This description of Austin is from those who know him, and he knows. He is still learning that new people aren't too scary. He is not the doodle for a busy household right away. If what you read sounds like a dog you could love, it just will take a little time (and some cheese, Austin does like cheese!)

Hello, I`m Benny! I`m about 6 years old and weigh roughly 65 pounds.Do you like...Dogs? I have a mixed history with other dogs and would need to meet any potential doggie family members before going home with them.Cats? I like to chase kitties and should go to a home without them.Kids? I need a little bit of training but for the most part I`m the bestest boy.
