Story
Winlock is a gentle soul, senior dog who survived some really sad neglect in his former home in California. He was rescued out of a home with 10 dogs where the elderly owner was no longer able to care for the dogs. Winlock was overfed to the point he got up to 108 pounds but in the past month he has been doing so good on his weight loss program that he is down to 95 pounds. A healthy weight for him would be 80 pounds and he's making great progress with simple portion control! Despite Winlock's sad past few years, he is a doting boy with big brown eyes that will melt your heart. He was badly matted, had ear infections and painful fox tail seeds embedded in his skin but he is feeling so much better now after a grooming and some vet care. His personality has really started to shine through and he's started initiating fetch with his foster mom - he really loves for you to toss his toy so he can go get it and bring it back to you! - Approximately 10 years old and currently 85 pounds - Possibly a Poodle/Irish Wolfhound mix. His fur is long and fluffy but he's currently in a shaved state since he had such bad matting that needed to be alleviated. - Excellent with other dogs both large and small - Polite with the cats he is fostered with - Friendly to all people - Lower energy and happy to relax around the home. He could be totally content with a stroll around the neighborhood for exercise each day. - Potty trained and no potty accidents while in foster - Good home alone and not destructive - Ideally would do best in a home without a lot of steep stairs. He is on a joint supplement to help support his hips and joint health and many stairs would likely be tough for this boy. - Does need some assistance loading into a vehicle - Easy going, nice dog to live with! Winlock is very thankful for the care he has received and is always smiling and being sweet towards all the people who have helped him so far. Winlock is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, had a dental cleaning in June, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Portland, Milwaukie or Tualatin. $200 adoption fee Fostered in Beaverton, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR WINLOCK ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey!   You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!    The adoption fee is $1,600 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!    We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.    Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!    Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond.   Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.    The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs.   It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS:   Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!   Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE A FOSTER BASED RESCUE IN TX. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY NOT IN YOUR STATE BUT WILL BE TRANSPORTED ONCE ADOPTED VIA VAN. OUR APP CAN BE FOUND AT haydudeequine.org Hi, I'm Coconut! 🥥 I'm a one-year-old, 45-pound doodle mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for my people. If you're looking for a dog who believes life is better when we're together, I think we should meet! My favorite place in the world? Right next to you...or even better, on your lap! I'm a total cuddle bug, I give amazing hugs, and if you move from one room to another, don't worry—I was planning on going there too. I just really love being with my humans. I'm pretty laid back most of the time, but I also enjoy getting outside, going for walks (I'm a good girl on a leash!), and I've recently discovered how much fun it is to play with other dogs. My buddy Buddy has been teaching me that wrestling and zoomies are pretty awesome, so I'd love a home with another friendly dog to hang out with. I also have a little secret...I'm more athletic than I look! Apparently I've been watching the deer, because I figured out how to jump a fence just like they do. So I'll need a home with a tall, secure fence and people who will keep an eye on me when I'm outside. Let's talk about food...I LOVE it! Don't worry, I'm not food aggressive at all—I just get a little too excited when it's mealtime. I even eat from a puzzle bowl because I think every meal should come with a fun challenge. I think I'd be happy with respectful kids, an active family, and people who want me to be part of their everyday life. I'm not looking to be a backyard dog—I want to be where my family is. I'll happily be your walking buddy, your couch buddy, your errand buddy...basically your everything buddy. One more thing. People sometimes get excited because I'm a doodle mix, but I hope my forever family chooses me because of who I am, not just what I look like. I'm loyal, affectionate, goofy, and ready to love my people with my whole heart. If you're looking for a best friend who gives great hugs, loves adventures, and will never let you feel alone, I think we might just be the perfect match. Love, Coconut 🥥❤️

Story
got stromy when she was about 5 months. She had an accident on the stairs and broke her leg near the hip area. she was restricted to bed rest in a cage for most of ur puppy years. On meds for the whole time. While recovering she also broke her front paw while using bathroom. She got surgery and recovered but she was not socialized while being a puppy due to injuries. It has been difficult to train her due to my current situation. She really is a sweet girl and loves to cuddle and will even sleep with you! But she is cage trained and potty trained. Could use work on socializing and leash pulling.

Story
Hey. It’s me. Cooper. Yes, that Cooper. The one who looks like he should come with a warning label that says “may contain zoomies, enthusiasm, and accidental furniture destruction.” I’m a 1.5 year old doodle mix tipping the scales at a solid 122 lbs of pure energy, wiggles, and “I swear I didn’t mean to do that” moments. I am basically a large, fluffy espresso shot with legs. I am a very sweet boy with my people. I love affection, I love attention, and I love being part of everything you are doing. If you sit down, I will be there. If you stand up, I will also be there. Personal space is more of a suggestion in my world. Now about my lifestyle. I am active. Like, really active. I do not believe in idle time. I believe in movement, training, play, and more movement. I am looking for someone experienced who understands my energy and my breed mix and is ready to continue my training so I can be the best version of myself. Structure is very important for me, even if I occasionally act like I forgot that. When it comes to other dogs, I enjoy having friends, but I need dogs who can keep up with me. I am not the best match for older or very calm dogs who just want peace and quiet. Cats are unknown territory for me, so for now, a no-cat home is recommended. Because of my size, energy, and enthusiasm for life, I would do best in an adult-only home with no kids. I need people who are confident, consistent, and ready for a big dog with big feelings and even bigger zoomies. At the end of the day, I am not trying to be wild, I am just a giant doodle who loves life a little too much and needs the right person to help me channel it. With the right home, I will be loyal, loving, hilarious, and your very fluffy full-time workout program! My adoption fee is $295 and I'm neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Apply to meet me today!

This young pup is full of energy and enjoys chasing and retrieving balls, making him a great companion for an active home. As a puppy, Charlie is still learning the ropes and will benefit from continued training and guidance. The good news is that he is eager to learn, responds well to positive reinforcement, and is considered easy to train. Charlie would do best in a home without young children, as he is not comfortable around kids. He thrives with patient adopters who can provide structure, consistency, and plenty of opportunities for play and enrichment. Age: 8 months Breed: Poodle mix Male Good with children: No Favorite activity: Playing ball/fetch Training: Needs continued training but is eager to learn and easy to train
