Story
Meet Sleepy! 🤍This sweet 10-year-old, 15-lb boy is looking for a calm, loving forever home.Sleepy may be shy at first, but once he feels safe, his gentle personality melts your heart. He loves being cuddled, rubbed, and brushed, and one of his favorite things is carrying his plush toys from room to room like little treasures. 🧸 He truly seems content just being near his person.Sleepy can be fearful around new people and has some separation anxiety when left alone, so he’ll do best with someone patient and understanding who can help him continue building confidence. He is crate trained and still working on potty training.Because Sleepy has limited vision, he prefers to be picked up while you’re sitting down—it helps him feel secure and relaxed. Once he trusts you, he’s incredibly sweet and just wants to be close. 💕To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.

Meet Rocket, the ultimate gentleman in a fluffy package! This 17-pound poodle mix may be 11 years young, but you’d never guess it by the way he trots around with a sparkle in his eye. Rocket is proof that age is just a number—he’s still full of love, charm, and just the right amount of pep.Rocket has a heart as soft as his curls. He’s wonderfully gentle and gets along beautifully with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him the perfect fit for almost any family. Whether it’s curling up for a movie night or tagging along for a walk, Raymond’s favorite place to be is right by your side. He is a true snuggler who thrives on companionship and will happily soak up all the cuddles you’re willing to give. This little man has mastered the art of being both calm and affectionate, with just enough energy to keep life fun and sweet. If you’re looking for a loyal friend who will warm your lap and your heart, Rocket is ready to show you that senior dogs make the very best companions.Rocket did come to us with a habit of marking when is allowed to free roam indoors. He does not have full accidents inside but will try to mark his territory here and there. He does not mark while he is in his kennel. We recommend him being kenneled or wearing a belly band when left unsupervised to avoid any marking. To apply to have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport, please visit our website at https://longwayhome.org/adopt.❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds.

Story
Hi… I’m Lainey Wilson. 🤍 I’m only a year old and around 50 pounds, but somehow I already know what it feels like to be scared and completely alone. I was found running through traffic, weaving between cars with no idea where I was going… just trying to survive and hoping someone would notice me before it was too late. And then someone did. Someone stopped. Someone cared. Someone chose me. That moment changed everything. Now I’m safe with CAMO, and every day I’m learning what love and comfort feel like. My body is healing beautifully — the crusty, scabbed skin I came in with is already improving so much, and my ears are almost completely healed after an infection that made life pretty uncomfortable. The vet says I’m going to be just fine, and for the first time in a long time, I think I believe that too. Because even after everything I’ve been through… my heart is still so full of love. I absolutely adore people and love being close to the ones I trust. I lean into every gentle touch like I’ve been waiting my whole life for it. I’m wonderful with other dogs and have such a sweet, affectionate spirit that shines brighter every single day. I do currently show male aggression and will need a patient, understanding home that can continue helping me feel safe and secure while I learns to trust. Despite that, I have such a loving heart and so much potential to blossom with the right family by my side. Everyone keeps talking about my “glow up,” and maybe they’re right. Maybe soon my coat will grow back soft and shiny, and my skin will heal until nobody can see the hard parts of my past anymore. But honestly, the best part of me is already here. I’m resilient. I’m loving. I still trust. And I still believe there’s a family out there who will love me the way I’ve always deserved. If you open your heart to me, I promise I’ll spend the rest of my life showing you just how grateful I am. 🐾💕 Adoption fee is: $500.00 ALL adoptions require a completed application, vet check, home check and final contract. The application to adopt can be found at www.camorescue.com. Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, spay/neuter are included in the fee. Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with a CAMO representative to set up a meet and greet. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs. For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs. EIN # 46-5486022
