Story
✨ Meet Sugar — the fluffiest little marshmallow you’ll ever love! ✨After 14 years with her family, this sweet girl was surrendered to the Fort Worth shelter due to “allergies.” We know… our hearts cracked a little too. But Sugar isn’t dwelling on the past — she’s too busy soaking up sunshine, enjoying soft beds, and rediscovering what love feels like. 🤍Sugar is a calm, quiet gal who LOVES a cozy nap in a warm sunny spot. She gets along great with other dogs (yes, even the big goofy ones!) and has the softest, sweetest energy. Give her a few days to settle in, and you’ll start to see her adorable little personality peek through. She may not have teeth, but don't let that fool you — she is highly motivated by soft, stinky treats. She’s also learning that walkies are actually pretty fun! Cuddling isn’t her main thing just yet, but she’s warming up to couch snuggles, hanging out with the other dogs, and being held. And if you offer ear scritchies? Ohhhh boy. That’s her favorite thing on planet Earth.Sugar does best in a peaceful home where she can nap, putter around, and enjoy her senior-lady routine. She has had a few potty accidents, so regular trips outside (or someone who’s great with gentle training) will help her succeed. She’s not a barker, not into toys, and not wild in the slightest — but she did bust out a cute little scamper when she got to explore a big backyard. It was precious. If you’ve been looking for a mellow, soft, sunshine-loving sidekick who just wants a comfy spot and a kind human… Sugar is your girl. 💛🐾To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

Story
Dopey is wishing for the greatest gift of all this Christmas… a forever home. 🎄✨Dopey is a sweet, gentle girl who loves the cozy parts of life. Her favorite things include soft blankets, belly rubs, and long winter naps. She’s a quiet pup who just wants to feel close to the people she loves. If she can’t see you, she’ll give a little whimper to let you know she’d like her favorite human by her side.🥹💗She’s a low-energy companion who enjoys short walks to sniff the crisp holiday air. Her coat was shaved and is still growing back, so she currently wears her cutest sweaters to stay warm — she truly is a chilly little snowflake. ❄️She recently had a dental and is now totally toothless, which means she’s happily living the soft-food life. She’s also working on trimming down her “holiday fluff,” so gentle walks and mindful portions will help her feel her best for Santa’s visit. 🎅Dopey’s Christmas wish is simple: a warm lap, a loving family, and a place where she will never feel lonely. She has so much love to give! All she needs now is someone to share it with.🤍Open your home and heart to this precious senior girl and make her season (and her life) merry and bright!🎁To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Story
Meet Sleepy! This 10 year old, 15 lbs pup is searching for his forever home this holiday season.🎄This sweet little guy found himself at the shelter just before the holidays after his former owner could no longer care for him and his siblings. Sleepy can be very shy at first, but with a little patience and a lot of love, he warms up like a cozy fire on a winter night and lets his gentle, loving personality shine. 🤍Sleepy is crate trained and still working on potty training. He proudly rocks the cutest “lion” haircut, and his coat is absolutely stunning—truly a Christmas-card-worthy pup. ✨🐶Because Sleepy has limited vision, he prefers to be picked up while you’re sitting down, which helps him feel safe and secure. Once he trusts you, he’s a total sweetheart who just wants to be close. We would love for Sleepy to stay with his brother Bashful, but he’d also do wonderfully as an only pup or with another calm, gentle dog.🐾Even better news—Sleepy will be at Santa’s Wonderland this Saturday! Come meet this precious boy, snap a festive photo, and maybe make this holiday season the one where Sleepy finally finds his forever home. 🏡To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.https://longwayhome.org/apply ❤ Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. Sadie is the sweetest ever. I got her when she was 10mo. old and is now 1yr and a couple months. She absolutely loves to play fetch and get her belly rubbed. The best cuddle and napping buddy. Sadie is crate/home trained. Would like her to be welcomed into a pet loving home.
