Story
Meet Noodle!   He is a tall, slim, handsome guy who is ready for his forever home.  He was out looking for help (or a new home) one day when he came across a couple who helped him look for his owners.  When the owners were not found, his helpers got him into rescue.  While TSBR does not generally have DNA results on dogs in program, Noodles friends wanted to know what  makes up this handsome boy.  72% Poodle (Medium and Standard) 24% Golden Retriever 3% Poodle (Toy and Miniature) 1% American Cocker Spaniel   What a great testament to his fantastic personality! This playful, loving boy is fully vetted and ready to find his new home!  Noodle loves all the people he meets.  He knows sit, shake, down, and place and is making good progress on leash training and can heel.  He is house trained and uses a dog door.  Noodle sleeps quietly in either his kennel or on a dog bed by his foster’s bed.  He does not get up on the furniture or ask to do so but could probably be convinced if you would like this! Noodle is loved at the vet and great at the groomers.  He loves car rides and will lay on a pillow quietly in the back of the car. Noodle does not jump on people or counter surf.  He also is not a barker.  He is a trusted member of his foster family and has full range of the house when his fosters are away.     This energetic boy loves to play with other dogs.  He is considerate of older and smaller dogs as well.  He does play energetically with dogs of his own age and size…his foster sister taught him that.  Recently, Noodle has been showing interest in stuffed toys and has a large ball that he loves to chase and carry about. Falling for Noodle…Ask to meet him~ retrieveafriend.org/adopt  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 10, 2025, 6:02 pm

Story
DFW area applications only.  Meet Six Seven — the math doesn’t add up, but the love sure does! Six Seven got his name because, well… nobody could quite agree if he was 6 or 7 years old. (Apparently, “almost 7” is a whole mood these days.) This handsome Standard Poodle–Aussie mix was surrendered by his previous owner, who told us he was a puppy. Spoiler alert: he’s not. But don’t tell him that — he still thinks he’s got his puppy charm and wiggle! Currently weighing in around 57 lbs, Six Seven could stand to gain a few — his ideal weight is closer to 75–85 lbs, and with regular meals and a comfy home, he’ll get there in no time. He’s got that Aussie intelligence, Poodle curls, and a heart big enough to fill your couch (and maybe your entire heart). &#226&#156&#168 The stats: Age: 6–7 years old (give or take a year of wisdom) Breed: Standard Poodle–Aussie mix Weight: 57 lbs (but working on his glow-up) Personality: Goofy, gentle, and secretly thinks he’s still a lapdog Grooming: He doesn’t shed, but his curly coat needs regular professional grooming — a small price for such fabulous hair! Good with: Dogs &#226&#156&#133 Cats &#226&#156&#133 House trained &#226&#156&#133 Six Seven was surrendered due to the owner moving out of the country — not because of any fault of his own. He’s now living his best life in foster care and waiting for his forever family to give him the love (and snacks) he deserves. Adoption fee: $500 Apply online today! If your application is selected, his foster will reach out to arrange a meet-and-greet with this distinguished gentleman.   Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Roxy is a sweet 12-year-old pup I brought home at 1 year old. She has always had the gentlest spirit and loves being close to her person — the kind of dog who would happily be petted for an hour. She’s calm, patient, great with kids, and friendly with other dogs. I always said she'd make a great therapy dog. She was part of a fantastic duo for 10 years with my labroodle who past away 2 years ago. I am looking for a very loving, quiet home where she can get lots of affection and companionship. Due to allergies and changes at home, I can’t give her the level of closeness she thrives on, and she deserves a family who can. Roxy has a disc issue and recently lost feeling in her left leg, so she has some mobility challenges. She is still full of love and peace and would be a wonderful companion for someone who can provide a soft, supportive senior-dog home.

Story
🐾 Meet Apollo! 🐾 Say hello to Apollo, a 4-year-old Poodle mix with a big heart and a confident personality! ✨ Apollo is a smart, fun, and loving boy who enjoys spending time with his people and being part of the action. He can be a bit of an alpha with other dogs, so he’d do best with calm, easygoing canine friends — or as the only dog where he can soak up all the attention. Because he’s energetic and knows what he wants, we’re recommending a home with kids 9 and up who understand how to give dogs space and respect their boundaries. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’ll keep you smiling every day, Apollo might be your perfect match! 💙
