Story
Meet Hope 💛 Hope truly lives up to her name. She is a gentle, affectionate little companion who quickly becomes part of the family and loves nothing more than being close to her people. She’s the kind of dog who will happily curl up beside you on the sofa in the evening, often flopping right onto you for cuddles. During the day, if you work from home, she’s just as content resting quietly nearby on a bed, at your feet, or even on your lap. She’s low maintenance, well behaved, and very easy to have around the house. Hope also has a playful side. She enjoys toys, likes going for walks, and especially loves taking her time to sniff and explore the world around her. She’s always happy to join you for a trip to the park or relax with you at a dog-friendly brewery. She is potty trained and understands basic cues like “drop it” and staying off furniture when asked. Hope does have paroxysmal dyskinesia, which causes short episodes that look similar to seizures and usually last about 5 to 10 minutes. These typically happen about once per day. During an episode, she just needs someone to hold her gently and keep her calm and safe. She may sometimes be sick afterward, but she does not lose bladder control and otherwise returns to being her normal, loving self. Because excitement can trigger episodes, she will do best in a calm home as the only dog where she can feel secure and relaxed. Hope will be spayed and ready to go home after April 30th. She is looking for a patient, loving adopter who wants a devoted companion and is happy to give her the quiet support she needs during her brief daily episodes. If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly, loyal dog who just wants to be close to her person, Hope could be the perfect match 🐾💛

Blue is the sweetest Schnauzer, just under 5 yrs, was surrendered because his owner was working long shifts at his job. He is good with dogs, walks well on a leash, knows several commands, and loves playing with other dogs. He is a higher energy dog who loves playing fetch, eating carrots, and would love a new family that is active. Come see him in Windsor!

Story
** If you are interested in adopting Yoda, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ ** Meet Yoda! Yoda is an adorable, 1 year old, 25 lb Terrier mix. We are not sure his exact breeds, as we do not DNA test our rescue dogs, but the vets believe he could be a Schnauzer / Border Terrier mix. Yoda was found as a stray in Texas and ended up in a crowded shelter with very little known about his past. What we do know is that he’s now safe, heading to Colorado, and getting his fresh start with our rescue. Even with such a mysterious background, Yoda has already shown us his sweet and easygoing personality. He is friendly with people and gets along well with other dogs, making him a great candidate for a home with a canine companion or as a solo pup who enjoys social outings and playdates. Like many young terriers, he has a curious, observant nature. He’s the kind of dog who likes to take in his surroundings, follow his nose, and check in with his person as he explores. At just around a year old, Yoda is still very much a young dog, which means he’s likely to have that fun mix of playful energy and affectionate snuggles once he’s settled into a stable home. He may need a bit of guidance as he learns the routines of home life, but he seems eager to connect and bond with people who will show him consistency, patience, and love. Yoda is looking for a home that will continue his journey with him, teaching him what it means to be a cherished companion and giving him all the love he’s been waiting for. Farfel's Rescue and our Texas rescue partners would love to see Yoda in a home with an individual, family (older kids are preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling) or active retirees who have the time and love for a very loyal and sweet dog. We'd hate to see him left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home, as he is much too social for that type of arrangement. We'd like to place Yoda in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and love. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Yoda is up to date on his vaccinations, has been fully vetted, is healthy, heartworm negative, and is neutered. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year. Applications are currently being accepted for our wonderful pup. If interested in this gorgeous, very cuddly/sweet and loving best friend, please fill out an application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting from us, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
