Story
Meet Coco: Your Future Furry Friend Introducing Coco, a lively young male Schnauzer with a zest for life and a playful spirit that is simply infectious! Coco is full of energy and loves nothing more than engaging with his toys, whether it’s a fun game of fetch or a good old-fashioned tug-of-war. His playful antics are sure to bring joy and laughter to any home. Coco does have a slight territorial nature, which is common in Schnauzers, so he may need some guidance to help him adjust to his new surroundings. With patience and consistent training, Coco will quickly learn the ropes and become a well-mannered member of your family. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog: Adjustment Period: Coco will need time to acclimate to his new home. Be patient as he familiarizes himself with his environment and routine. Training Needs: Consistent training is crucial for Coco, especially to manage his territorial tendencies. Positive reinforcement and patience will be key in helping him learn commands and good behavior. Exercise Requirements: Coco is an active pup who will need regular physical activity. Daily walks, play sessions, and mental stimulation are important to keep him healthy and happy. Socialization: Introducing Coco to various people, pets, and environments will help him become a well-rounded and confident dog. Socialization is important for developing his friendly nature. Healthcare: Regular vet visits, vaccinations, and preventive care are essential for maintaining Coco's health. A balanced diet and regular grooming will also contribute to his well-being. Love and Companionship: Coco thrives on affection and attention. Building a strong bond through love and companionship will ensure a happy and fulfilling relationship. By welcoming Coco into your home, you're not just adopting a pet; you're gaining a playful and loyal friend who will bring joy, love, and excitement into your life. Story
This little guy is guessed to be a schnauzer mix He needs some time to trust and then is a big lover and playful. A calm and quiet home is a must. - Shy guy that takes some time to warm up. He doesnt love people grabbing him so young kids are not recommended. He bonds well to one human so if you live alone and want a companion he is your guy! - He is good with other dogs, has lived in multiple homes with large dogs and loves to play. He is also good with cats (lived with three in his last home) - Treat motivated - Would suggest an owner that has had shy dog experience/rescue dog experience. - Active little guy that can crush 4 mile hikes but also good with chilling at home. He loves to go for daily runs/walks - Loves his crate Comes with 2 free dog training sessions

Story
We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young dog. Sable is the kind of pup who once comfortable in her environment snuggles in, loves you up and then puts her head on your shoulder breathing her warm breath. She's so sweet (while being initially a bit shy) and so very loving and irresistible that you can't help falling head over heels in love. This is the case unless a dog like Sable is in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space or is wandering scary urban streets lost and alone. It wasn't many days later that Farfel's Rescue received a plea to save the life of Sable, a 10 month old, 29 lb Schnauzer / Border Terrier pup that is nothing but pure love! We responded almost immediately that we'd be more than happy to accept precious Sable into Farfel's Rescue. Sable's Texas rescuer had the following to brag about our sweet girl: It was heartbreaking when Sable was found on the streets by animal control. She greeted AC with a wag as if to say, "What took you so long to save me?" Upon further inspection, they found a collar deeply embedded into the delicate skin of Sable's neck. We all felt awful for how long she may have dealt with the pain, but not for this brave pup to complain. She was sweet and well-behaved as it was removed and the area was treated. We quickly found that Sable is a dark-eyed, scruffy beauty that is not only gorgeous but as sweet as can be.This pup is also a perfect size at 29 lbs to accompany her family just about everywhere a smaller-sized and well-behaved dog is welcome. Sable will fit right in due to her sweetness and great temperament. She is already starting to understand that kind and cooperative behavior makes great things happen in life. Our dream for this cuddly pup is a forever Colorado home with an active, dog-crazy family that will cherish her for life. As Sable becomes more and more comfortable in her forever home, she will blossom and become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please. The happier her family is with her behavior, the more she will shine with her accomplishments. Farfel's would like to see Sable in a home that includes her in family time and fun activities (some couch-time with belly rubs would be perfect!) as well as taking that extra step to participate in positive reinforcement / force free virtual or in-person obedience classes. These classes successfully teach a very smart and cooperative pup like Sable the skills to accompany their family out in the world with excellent behavior. Farfel's Rescue is happy to provide a list of approved virtual and in-person force-free trainers in your area. Sable will be a loving and devoted companion for active retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a silly, active and fun-loving pup. Sable would also enjoy another gentle dog to play with.. She's so fun to watch as she puts her positive energy into enjoying the day with her foster and a furry friend. This engaging girl would also do well with a younger family that works from a home-based office. She would bask in the attention and cuddles periodically throughout the day that this life-style brings. Sable is up to date on her vetting and vaccinations to stay true to Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fulfill our commitment to ending the tragic canine overpopulation challenge. Sable is arriving on transport in Boulder on Friday 11/8/2024. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If you're interested in this sweet, cuddly and fun-loving best friend, please fill out our application completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Sable, please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.

Story
Waffles story is all too common in his close call to being homeless in Arkansas....but who could ignore his cuteness, adorable manner and desire to bond with anyone who could potentially be his best friend? This beautiful guy was picked up as a stray in Arkansas and ended up with one of our Arkansas rescue partners...they couldn't bear the thought that Waffles would end up in a high-kill shelter scheduled for euthanasia due to lack of space. At 8 months old and a tiny 10 lbs (anticipated to be approximately 13 lbs when full-grown), Waffles is a perfect size for hiking the Colorado mountains, neighborhood walks (he's a very social guy) and backyard fun with his family..and then at day's end, this loving pup would enjoy nothing more than a warm lap or a spot on the couch or bed next to his favorite people. Waffles enjoys his relationships with other dogs as well and would have so much fun with another playful and gentle canine best friend. From Waffles' foster: * * * * "Waffles is SO FUN! He seems to be potty trained. He stands by the door with a very insistent face asking to go out and and has not peed in the house yet, so that’s great. He’s a really big cuddler at night, so he would love to sleep in the bed. During the day he’ll sleep in a medium size crate because he acts like it’s a little house and brings all his toys there. I haven’t yet crated him when I leave. He seems to love every dog he meets, and absolutely LOVES my dog. He is quite active right now and thrives off of attention, but it doesn’t have to be human attention. If you have a dog who will play with him he will ignore you for hours. He’s not amazing on leash, but that’s because he’s so exuberant and finds everything he sees very exciting since it’s new. If I put him on a leash in my garden, he is way more calm. Overall he is a really great, really really friendly and social dog!!!" * * * * Waffles would do well with anyone who's invested in spending time with their pup. He will be a committed and loving best friend..and would be overjoyed with the opportunity to come along and be part of the fun. This little guy is so pleasant and portable that he can be a part of any adventure....it can be a visit with friends, a car ride, a vacation or just an afternoon spending time together plopped down on the couch. All of this would speak to Waffles sweet temperament and love for his people. Farfel's isn't open to an adoption where family members spend their days working full-time outside of the home. We'd like Waffles to get more time and attention than is possible with that lifestyle. Those who work from a home-based office would be a perfect choice for this friendly and engaging pup. Waffles will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations to support Farfel's commitment to adopting out only healthy dogs. He has also been neutered in support of a euthanasia - free future in the canine population. Waffles is available for adoption now.
