Spay/Neuter of dog is scheduled at a vet of our choosing and is part of the adoption fee - date will be on the adoption contract - this is if not already sterilized.   We take the dogs that are adopted down...so if a dog is on the website they are available. Obedience training and fully fenced in yard is required for all our pups.   Completion certificate for training needs to be emailed once complete.  When applying pictures/videos of your fully enclosed yard is needed. If the question is not answered in the bio please send emails to   info@HeidisLegacyDogRescue.com Meet Pretzel Pretzel is a cute, lovable little guy that is a schnauzer mix. He is around 7 months old (approx DOB 6/1/2025) Pretzel is good with other dogs and doesn't mind cats. He is a little mouthy so mature kids are recommended. Pretzel was saved from a backyard breeder in Pinellas County. He couldn't walk at all when first rescued. He is now a happy puppy. Pretzel's adoption fee is $500 - obedience training is required after adoption and fully enclosed front or backyard is also required. We are all volunteers and short on time, we will contact you back only if we have more questions or your application is approved and you will be invited to meet the dog. Story
Acquired Snuggles from a friend who had to move. She was 6 at the time and I’ve had her for 6 years. Everything was great until July of 2025. When we went to give birth she got into the trash and we noticed a lot of problems to we took her to the vet. Then they told us she was diabetic and required insulin for the rest of her life and also had cataracts in both eyes. The more we visit the vet, the more problems came up. She also has a level 4 heart murmur which stops her from getting certain procedures that they recommend such as eye surgery. It’s hard for us as we have a newborn, both parents work and she’s home for a few hrs by herself We don’t want to give her up but I know it’s for the best that we find her a new home with someone that can give her the care and attention she requires.

Hi, My name is Shrek and I am the nicest boy at the rescue. I am gentle and sweet and love everyone including all the dogs and people who help the care of us. I never start trouble with anyone and I am grateful for any act of kindness. I am 25 lbs and approximately 5 yrs. old but Tracy will confirm this when I get neutered. I am Heartworm and Chagas negative which is great being that I come from Deep South Texas. Shrek is located in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to St Petersburg, FL on February 21st. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $450. The fee includes the transport cost. This handsome little man is Riley!  Riley is a 7-month-old Schnauzer mix.  He was recently surrendered to E.A.R.S.  Riley gets excited when it’s play time and he also enjoys going for walks.  However, climbing into a lap is still his favorite thing to do.  Riley does well with other small dogs (we are unsure of how he will do with larger dogs or cats).  He will make a fun addition to any family or a wonderful companion.
