Charlie is about 2 years old and weighs 25 pounds. Charlie’s past was painful—he came from an animal cruelty situation where love was scarce and fear was constant. Now, he’s learning that kindness exists, and he’s slowly opening up to the idea of trust. But he needs a home that understands his journey. Sudden movements and being grabbed can send Charlie into a panic—his body still remembers what it’s like to be hurt and he gets scared. A calm, child-free home where people move gently and speak softly would help him feel safe. He’s afraid of being left alone in the yard, so an apartment or condo with a predictable routine and regular walks would be ideal. Charlie plays rough with other dogs and prefers the company of larger female pups who can match his energy and give him space. He’s quirky, resilient, and full of potential—but he needs someone who sees past the fear and into the heart of a dog who’s never truly been loved. Adopt Charlie and be the safe place he’s been searching for all along. He is located in our rescue in Hondo, Texas. Charlie is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and his adoption fee is $325. Charlie is available for transport to St. Augustine, FL on December 20, 2025. Tiny is Crate trained but doing very well with potty training. She is a shy girl at first but is easily won over especially by her person. She loves to go on walks but sometimes can get a little off track but is easily corrected on her leash. She is a true sweetheart.

Onyx is a three year old giant schnauzer that is new to the rescue. He's still in rehabilitation, so almost ready for adoption, but we're accepting applications for when he's ready. Onyx LOVES toys and getting lots of exercise, he's a big boy that loves to play! He's also good with other dogs too, has not been tested around cats.Onyx prefers a home with females, so would do best in a home without men. Because of his active nature, a home without children would be best. We need an adopter who will be patient, Onyx needs time to warm up to you and someone who will follow up with his training. An adopter with giant schnauzer or similar breed experience is required, Onyx requires someone that will understand his behavior and grooming needs took ensure the best forever home. Albus has improved by leaps and bounds since he’s been with Paws.. He was found in the same area in the middle of the state and in the same condition as Rosie.. He went from being bald and emaciated to actually needing a little trim! He's at a perfect body weight and he's very excited to meet his new family! He's very friendly and gets along well with other dogs.. The only down-side that we're aware of is he loves to bark.. He's finally feeling great and wants to shout it from the rooftops, so this might be an issue for someone living in a condo, or in close quarters with other neighbors.

He does not use his front left paw, but our vet has determined it does not affect his overall wellbeing and it certainly does not hinder his playful lifestyle!
