Story
How cute can one dog be? We say as cute as Billy Ray, our 4-year-old, 10 pound mix of Schnauzer and Wire Hair Terrier. He’s not only cute, though. He’s also playful, energetic, and outgoing. He gets along well with other dogs, but he does not like cats. Because he is so small, we prefer that he not go to a family with children under 10 who don’t always know their own strength when playing hard. This boy is a true delight! (posted 3/29/26, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **May 13, 2026, 3:57 pm

Story
Little Man is a sweetie pie of a 2-year-old Schnauzer mix with a loving personality. He presently weighs 58 pounds. He was originally adopted from us, but unfortunately his owner died and Little Man came back. He’s a lovely boy who simply wants to cuddle and be cuddled. He loves to run around and play, and he gets along well with his canine pals. He might be a bit shy at first, but he quickly warms up. How about giving him his true forever home? Story
Selena is 13-years old, turning 14 in June. She’s a great shape for her age and is well-behaved. Selena is a very happy dog. Selena does spend a lot of time sleeping yet enjoys being outside on long walks. She is very picky when in comes to interacting with other dogs. Sometimes she’ll play with them, other time she’ll simply walk away from them. She can be intimidating by little kids because in the past they have been rough with her. Other than that, she is a sweetheart once she warms up to you. She loves her quiet time and being alone. Yet, she can be playful whenever she’s in the mood. She can be a bit moody at times. She’s in need of a new home that will provide her with lots of love and attention as she has gotten older and has health issues.

Story
Murphy is a sweet boy with a heart full of love, despite having a bumpy start to life. He absolutely adores people and sticks to you like Velcro—he's a true companion! This lovable pup gets along well with most small dogs but would also thrive as your one-and-only furry friend. He is housebroken, making him a great addition to your home. Murphy is all set to find his forever family; he’s vaccinated, neutered, heartworm negative, and microchipped! To top it off, he’ll come home with Trupanion pet insurance for your peace of mind. This affectionate boy would flourish in a home with a retired person or someone who works from home. While he does experience some separation anxiety, we believe that with love and security, he’ll learn to feel safe and valued. Murphy is leash-trained and would absolutely love to have a fenced yard where he can play and have fun! Traveling in the car? No problem! Murphy handles it like a champ. He’s goofy, playful, and has a soft spot for toys, always ready for a fun game or adventure! Murphy needs a committed family who will love him unconditionally and show him that he never has to worry about finding another home again. He deserves all the love and joy in the world! If you’d like to meet this wonderful boy and see if he’s the right fit for your family, please visit us online at www.hillhounds.org to fill out an application. Let’s give Murphy the loving home he so richly deserves! Spread the word and help us find him the perfect forever family!
