This adorable scruffy little guy made his way to K-9 Lifesavers from a crowded shelter in Alabama—no place for a puppy. Now Baby Paddington is safe, happy, and ready to find the forever family he's been waiting for! Paddington is a true Heinz 57 mix, with a little bit of everything rolled into one irresistibly cute pup. He's your typical puppy in all the best ways—sweet, playful, loving, and always ready to make new friends. Even better, he's surprisingly chill for a youngster and has an easygoing personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around. Paddington gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is at the perfect age for training, socialization, and bonding with his forever family. Whether you're looking for an adventure buddy, a cuddle companion, or both, Paddington is ready to fill that role. Could you be the one to give this deserving boy the loving home he's been dreaming of? Apply today and let Baby Paddington steal your heart! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. Story
Meet Murphy! Don't let the "senior" label fool you....Murphy still has plenty of pep in his step. This handsome Schnauzer loves a good game of fetch and has a fun, moderate energy level. Once he's had some playtime, he's more than happy to kick back and enjoy some quality time with his people. He's very affectionate and likes to snuggle. Murphy recently came to Worthy Dog Rescue after his longtime owner made the hard decision to surrender him. After a separation, he found himself working two jobs and preparing to move to housing that wasn't dog-friendly. Knowing Murphy deserved more time, attention, and stability than he could provide, he made the decision to let him start a new chapter. Thankfully, Murphy landed with one of our amazing new foster families who stepped up to welcome him into their home. Like many dogs, he was understandably anxious after losing the only family he'd ever known. With patience, love, and treatment for a painful ear infection, Murphy quickly regained his confidence, and his happy, well-balanced personality began to shine through. Murphy has integrated well with his foster family's resident dog. While he's perfectly happy sharing a home with another dog, he's much more interested in his humans than his canine companions. He'd do well as an only dog, soaking up all the attention or with another easygoing dog who respects his space. Chi describes Murphy as a confident, affectionate companion who enjoys being close to his people. Whether he's asking you to throw the ball one more time or curling up beside you to watch TV, he's happiest when he's part of the action. He can be a little skittish about strangers reaching for the top of his head, so he appreciates a gentle introduction and a little time to warm up. He's both potty trained and crate trained, sleeping comfortably in his crate at night and while home alone. He walks well on leash overall, although squirrels definitely capture his attention! Fortunately, he's not reactive to other dogs or people and enjoys getting out to explore.Like many Schnauzers, he'll let you know when someone is at the door, but once visitors come inside, he's a friendly gentleman who enjoys meeting new people.  Murphy isn't looking for perfection; he needs a family who will embrace his fun-loving personality and continue working with him on a few manners like leash walking, jumping, and attention barking. In return, you'll get a loyal, entertaining companion who's ready to make up for lost time and enjoy the life he deserves. If your idea of a perfect day includes brisk walks, games of fetch, and a devoted sidekick by your side, Murphy may be the perfect match. ❤️ BEED ESTIMATE: Schnauzer Mix GENDER: Male APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: 15 lbs (needs to gain 2 lbs) APPROXIMATE AGE: ~ 9 to 10 years old COAT TYPE: medium-length, low-shedding coat that needs regular grooming.  ADOPTION FEE: $425 OTHER INFO: UTD on shots/neutered/microchipped LOCATION: Rockville, MD   FOR MORE INFO OR TO ADOPT: Please go to https://adopt.worthydog.org and complete the application. You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to https://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application. Story
IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit: www.frecklesfoundation.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Arlo! Arlo is a sweet young pup who is learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. He can be timid in new situations and takes a little time to warm up, but once you’ve earned his trust, you’ll have a loyal friend for life. This handsome boy is very food motivated, which should make training a breeze. He’s already working on crate training and is making great progress. At night, he has proven trustworthy enough to sleep outside the crate and does very well. Arlo loves to keep an eye on his people and will happily follow his foster mom around the house. While Arlo may start out shy, his affectionate side quickly shines through. Once he’s comfortable, he seeks out love and attention and will reward his favorite humans with the sweetest little kisses of appreciation. He especially looks up to his confident Great Dane foster brother and takes comfort in having a canine role model nearby. Arlo has a slight limp in his rear right leg, likely due to a birth defect or an injury sustained when he was very young. Fortunately, it doesn’t slow him down or seem to bother him at all. He does not require any special treatment or ongoing veterinary care for his leg. Arlo’s biggest challenge is building confidence, but considering the rough start he’s had in life, he’s already come so far. With patience, love, and encouragement, there’s no limit to what this wonderful boy can accomplish. Beneath his cautious exterior is a happy, loving dog just waiting for someone to believe in him. Could you be the person who helps Arlo discover just how amazing life can be? This dog is fixed, current on vaccines and preventatives, heartworm negative, and almost 100% crate and potty trained. The adoption fee for this dog is $650. Application for adoption: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FRE/Dog If you are viewing on Petfinder/Adoptapet and cannot see photos or would like to apply for this dog please visit our website, www.frecklesfoundation.org. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs....all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! Puppies require an adopter who is home a good part of the day to continue their training! They are up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines and preventatives. Freckles Foundation & Animal Rescue cannot guarantee the exact age or breed of any animal in our care. The age and breed listed are based on information we may have been provided, and the appearance of the animal.

These pups are in Frederick, Maryland too!

Current Location: Ijamsville, MD Adoption Fee Covered + Free Training! Thanks to a generous supporter, this pet's adoption fee is fully covered — and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer in the first 60 days to help you start off strong together! Meet Macaroni: The Sweet, Shy Soul Ready to Blossom If you have a quiet home and a heart full of patience, Macaroni might just be the missing piece of your family. A survivor of a challenging past, Macaroni is learning that the world isn’t quite as scary as she once thought. While she is still discovering the simple joys of life, she is proof that with time and kindness, even the shyest dogs can show their true colors. The "Real Talk" on Macaroni Macaroni needs an adopter who respects her pace and understands that her progress is measured in small, beautiful moments: Earning Trust: Macaroni is not a "lap dog" in the traditional sense. She is still very fearful of direct touch; however, when she feels safe she’ll tentatively seek out chin scratches or give you a gentle "boop" with her nose when you aren't looking. She needs a home that will give her the space to approach you on her terms. The "Ignore" Rule: She is cautious around new people. Her way of managing nerves is to bark from a distance or retreat if someone tries to engage too quickly. She does best when visitors simply ignore her, allowing her the dignity and safety of deciding when to say hello. Potential Flight Risk: Macaroni is still adjusting to the concept of boundaries. She currently dislikes the leash and has shown a knack for jumping fences when overwhelmed. Because of this, she needs a secure yard and an adopter who understands her flight risk until she is fully bonded and confident in her surroundings. (The good news? If she does wander, she’s so attached to her people that she naturally gravitates right back.) Why You’ll Want Her on Your Team Once the "shell" comes off, Macaroni is a delight. She is not just a project; she is a personality waiting to shine: The Wiggle-Butt Factor: When she’s happy, she does the cutest, most infectious wiggle-butt dance. If you talk to her, she’ll light up, showing you the silly, playful side that has been waiting to come out. Morning Zoomies: Nothing beats the sight of Macaroni enjoying her morning zoomies in the yard. She’s learning how to play, how to chase, and how to be a dog. A True Friend: She loves her canine best friend, Cheese. Watching her blossom alongside him has shown us that she has a massive capacity for love—she just needs the right environment to let it out. The Perfect Match Macaroni is looking for a home that can offer: A Canine Mentor: She must have a confident, balanced dog in the home. She relies on other dogs to show her the ropes and help her feel secure enough to be herself. A Low-Traffic Environment: Because of her fear of strangers, she would thrive in a home with adults or older teens who can respect her need for space. Patience and Security: An adopter who is committed to a "safety-first" approach regarding leashes and fences, and who understands that she needs time to settle in before she truly reveals her full, playful personality. Are you the patient, steady hand Macaroni has been waiting for? She has so much love to give to the right person. If you're ready to provide a sanctuary for this sweet, wiggly girl, please click the apply button today! We would love to see Macaroni and Cheese find their forever home together. If that isn't possible, she still requires a home with another confident dog to help her navigate her new world.
