Story
Meet Fritz! Fritz is a 1-year-old, 33-pound Schnauzer mix with a zest for life and a heart full of joy. This fun, happy, energetic fella was found as a stray in Detroit and, sadly, was never reclaimed. It appears he once had a family — he was groomed and seemingly cared for — but now he’s ready for a true forever home that will never let him go. Fritz is well-socialized and absolutely loves romping around with other dogs who can appreciate (and tolerate!) his bouncy, puppy-like play style. He plays hard and has a blast, but his enthusiasm would likely overwhelm senior dogs who prefer a quieter pace. He has only recently met a cat, and the jury is still out on whether they’ll be friends or foes — slow, proper introductions will be important. Fritz would seemingly do well with older, dog-savvy children who understand boundaries and enjoy an active companion. Fritz is crate trained and has demonstrated a solid understanding of house manners — he’s off to a wonderful start! However, he is young and energetic, so continued structure and consistency will help him thrive. He loves to run and play and will need an active family that matches his energy. Fritz would do best with a physically fenced yard so he can safely enjoy outdoor time at his leisure; he is not a dog for tethering and he also no experience with an invisible fence. Fritz will require regular professional grooming to keep his Schnauzer coat looking its best Fritz is truly a happy-go-lucky guy who just wants a family to share adventures, playtime, and cozy downtime with. He’s looking for a home that will embrace his fun-loving spirit and love him furever. If you’re ready for an energetic best friend with a playful heart and loyal soul, Fritz might just be your perfect match.  Fritz is:Current on Bordetella, Distemper, and RabiesDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedNeuteredADOPTION FEE: $350 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. We process applications ONLY - there is no guarantee that you will get a response to an inquiry. Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal’s temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different. While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program. FUREVER TAILS IS A NON-PROFIT, NO-KILL, FOSTER HOME BASED ANIMAL RESCUE BASED OUT OF OAKLAND TOWNSHIP, MI. OUR FOSTER ANIMALS ARE LIVING IN FOSTER HOMES AND TREATED LIKE FAMILY UNTIL THEY FIND THEIR OWN FUREVER FAMILIES. OUR ADOPTION PROECESS REQUIRES AN APPLICATION TO BE COMPLETED AND APPROVED BEFORE A MEET-N-GREET WITH THE ANIMAL CAN TAKE PLACE. ADOPTION FEES ARE NECESSARY TO HELP US COVER VETTING COSTS FOR OUR RESCUED ANIMALS. ##2668055##

Story
Meet this little bundle of joy Weighing in at just 15–20 pounds, this adorable terrier mix is the perfect pint-sized companion with a BIG personality! Super friendly and always ready to make a new friend, he greets everyone with a wagging tail and a happy, wiggly body. He’s the kind of pup who fits right into your life — small enough for apartment living, but spirited enough to keep things fun and lively. Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood, playtime in the yard, or curling up on the couch, he’s simply thrilled to be by your side. This sweet boy thrives on attention and affection. He loves meeting new people, enjoys being part of the action, and is always up for a little adventure. With his cheerful nature and loving heart, he’s ready to bring endless smiles to his forever family. If you’re looking for a friendly, fun-sized best friend who will happily follow you wherever you go, this terrier mix is ready to head home with you. We do not have a facility for you to visit. You are welcome to email ccrcdogs@ccrcdogs.com with specific questions, but please complete the online application, which can be found at www.ccrcdogs.com, to secure your position in line for one of our dogs. You can also find a description of our process on that same page. Puppies will not be available to be seen until their 10-day quarantine has passed. Our adoption fees are listed on our website and cover the cost of the spay/neuter, age-appropriate shots and tests, medications to bring the dog to full health, and a free visit with one of our approved vets after adoption. Most dogs at CCRC are obtained from animal control centers so there is often very little known about their history or current habits. You can always expect to do some training, regardless of whether you adopt a dog or a puppy, including crate training, house training, and basic manners. CCRC has a variety of materials and resources to assist you with this, and we have trainers who will offer free phone/email support. March 1, 2026, 9:00 am

Story
Well, hello there cutie! Johnny is estimated to be about a year old and weighs 41 pounds. Meet Johnny, such a nice boy who needs a little extra love right now. This sweetie is not interested in anything else other than being close to you and getting love. He is a little shy and insecure, but he seems open to trusting, it just may take some time. We feel Johnny may have had an abusive past with evidence his mouth was taped shut, poor muffin. He will tuck his cute little tail when he is scared. He for sure needs an adopter who will work on confidence building, trust and positive socialization. Johnny is very attentive to you, takes his treats nicely and would just blossom with the right family. He will need a home where any children are at least 13 years old. A fenced in yard is also a must as his play style is more romping and bouncing outside and having fun! Johnny can't wait for a family to love and care for him like he deserves. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Johnny would love to meet them. He perks up as soon as he sees another dog. Another dog in the home may really help with his confidence building. If you are interested in Johnny and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*
