We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

1. PLEASE NOTE: Breed mix info is the best guess of Bark Bark Wag and our vets. There is no way to know for certain what any dog's breed mix is without a DNA test. 2. MUST READ --THE FIRST STEP: Go to www.barkbarkwag.org and click on "Let's Get Started!" to learn about our easy 3-step adoption process & apply to adopt! ANSWERS TO MOST QUESTIONS CAN BE FOUND HERE! We are all volunteers with limited time to respond to emails; if your question involves something NOT addressed at "Let's Get Started!", we will respond ASAP! *WE NEED AN ADOPTION APPLICATION TO START THE PROCESS.* APPLICATION & INFO: https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html ROSHEEN This stunning young lady is Rosheen, and she's delightful and so sweet! (Rosheen is an alternate version of the beautiful Irish name Roísín, which means "little rose".) She's 5 months old, 25#, and a mix of Schnauzer, Terrier and maybe some Irish Wolfhound, best guess; she may weigh 50-58# when full-grown. Rosheen is a beauty; with soft, scruffy black fur, a creamy gray undercoat, and graceful, long legs. She's a gentle girl with luminous eyes, who can be shy and cautious at first... with some gentle reassurance (which she thrives on), she's blossoming and building her confidence a bit more every day. She enjoys all the different humans she's met, and loves to snuggle close to her family. Rosheen also loves to play and run in a fenced yard (she's fast!) with other gentle dogs (pushy dogs intimidate her). She likes playing with allll the nylabones, toys, and Kongs, and she loves her fluffy bed! Rosheen is first learning about crate-training and housetraining with her foster family, and she does best when she's on a regular, frequent schedule for potty breaks (she occasionally has accidents as she's learning). She's starting to practice leash walks with a harness, and making steady progress there too! Her ideal family will have a physical fenced yard (no electric fence) and another dog Rosheen can watch for cues and BFF with. A calmer adult family (or one with a respectful child 6+ up) would be best for Rosheen; she loves having a consistent routine and quieter environment where she can relax and unfold as she feels comfortable. Sadly, this beautiful and deserving young lady hasn't had a lot of stability or safety in her young life. :( If you have a kind, loving family who can give Rosheen the TLC and time she needs to grow, she'll shower you with all her love always! APPLICATION & INFO: https://barkbarkwag.org/adopt.html A certificate will be provided by the Rescue upon request toward spay/neuter at 6 months of age, redeemable at Doctor Paws Veterinary Hospital, Ypsilanti, MI.
