She's always ready to offer cuddles and and be your shadow. Despite her age, Calua still has a lively spirit and a playful energy. She is a pro at fetch and nibbling at her stuffed toys. She loves to follow you around, always wanting to be near, and her favorite thing in the world is a good belly rub, which she happily soaks up with pure joy. Her curious nature means she’s always interested in what’s going on around her, eager to explore and learn, but she does it all with a gentle and loving demeanor. Calua’s combination of spunk, sweetness, and open-heartedness makes her a truly special companion who brings comfort and happiness to everyone she meets.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sugar was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas and safely arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine on Friday, 5th December 2025. She’s now warm, safe, and patiently waiting for the family who will love her forever.  We post our adoptable dogs across the East Coast and Canada so we can reach as many amazing adopters as possible and match each dog with their perfect home Please note: We do not transport dogs. Approved adopters will schedule an appointment for a meet-and-greet at People 'n' Pets, Freeze Dried Goodies & Gear in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine, where you’ll get to meet Sugar in person — and hopefully take home your new best friend. We do not know the exact breed of our dogs. It is the adopter’s responsibility to review photos and information provided, determine what breed(s) they believe the dog may be, and ensure they have the lifestyle, space, and means to care for the dog properly.
