Our veterinary partner estimates that Pluto is 10 years old at the time of intake in Dec 2022.  Pluto is good with people and other dogs.  This senior boy has had an awful life and the end of 2022 was the worst.  He was run over by his owners and instead of getting him medical care they dumped him at a shelter.  Pluto lost everything this new years but we promise 2023 will be a whole new beginning for him.  He will start 2023 as a tripod but he is doing amazing and ready to find the family who will show him that there is love and kindness in this world. Pluto loves playing with toys, he actually hoards them, so cute! He likes going for walks and has great leash skills.  Pluto would love to spend the rest of his life loved and taken care of. Meet Sarah Jayne, or as she’s called now Josie. Josie is a sweet senior 16-pound schnauzer poodle mix otherwise known as a Snoodle! Josie is about 8 to 12 years old. She had been adopted from us about four years ago and returned due to no fault of her own. Josie walks well on a leash and is housetrained and also uses potty pads. She has been good with kids and other animals although she does prefer things on the quiet side. She doesn’t like to play with other dogs and prefers it if the cat leaves her alone! Josie tends to sleep a lot and just wanders around and checks things out around the house. She does have some special needs, as she needs to be careful with her food. She gets an upset stomach easily which can lead to pancreatitis. We have found that having a special medication on hand can easily prevent her from getting sick. Josie had complete bloodwork, as well as a dental cleaning at her recent vet visit. Interested in becoming a forever home for Josie? All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Basil is approx 3 yrs old and 43 lbs, he looks like a schnauzer/ terrier mix , but we have no idea of what breeds he has in his DNA He’s overall a good dog, but needs an experienced adopter, he is very timid and shy and takes a while to warm up to new people He gets along with the other rescues and loves to run and play in the yard with them but can be pushy to new dogs that come into his fosters home and will try to nip Until he knows them and we feel he will be better as an only dog or with one buddy his size or bigger and no children He can be hard to put a leash on as he is scared of a leash and could do with some training , he loves to sit in his fosters office while she is working and stays very quietly He will come when you call him and goes inside when told to He seems to be very well house trained and will need a fully fenced in and secure yard , he’s a sweet boy that just needs the right home and loving owner THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE IN HOUSTON, TEXAS,WE SHIP OUR DOGS WITH MIGHTY MUTTS SHIPPING TO THE NORTH EAST OUR RESCUE POLICY - It is our rescue policy for all our dogs that we require a home with experienced dog owners only.
